For some in Massachusetts (and Maine, which was once part of Massachusetts), it's a 4-day weekend, as Monday is Patriot's Day. Tonight is the 250th Anniversary of the "To Arms!" rides of Paul Revere (who was captured by British sentries) and William Dawes, who got through. And tomorrow, Saturday is the 250th of the Battles of Lexington ("the shot heard 'round the world") and Concord. The colonials lost both battles, but the Red Coats paid for dearly on their march back to Boston, as Minutemen from surrounding towns showed up and engaged in guerilla tactics, picking them off at will. British casualties were about 1/3. And they never captured the munitions in Concord, which was the object of their quest: the Colonials removed and cached them elsewhere beforehand.

Ah, Al: yes, I'm off to Costco. You seem to have a thing for those Kirkland beans, yet your region is renown for popularizing darker (French) roasts. Buy local ☕ !

A local coffee in New England is "Green Mountain Coffee," but I seriously wonder whether those beans are really grown in Vermont's Green Mountains. 😜

Hmm? Amateur. We have 6 cats. I love them all, but don't get me started. They are all supposed to be our daughter's cats, but we are taking care of them. Then they bring us a kitten from college? I will admit that Kai is my burden. He's tough. Oooff.

Yabba dabba doooooooooo! Happy Saturday! Here I am again with the messed up sleep plan. Today as we get ready for this next travel day to Rochester,Mn I'm thinking some high octane jo is in order. About 12 hours from here and we will break it up and try to have a little fun doing this trip. The 11 hour drive over here whopped my butt so....will take it a tad more leisurely this stretch. Hope to have more answers and a game plan Monday afternoon. This not knowing is really getting the best of me.

With this three day weekend Donna and I got a lot of stuff done yesterday, but now it’s been on and off sprinkles, I’m sure when it clears up it’s back to getting the garden ready and some yard work done.

Good Saturday morning! Can't thank @Sven enough for the Sumatra blend and toons to start off this Saturday morning!
It is -57 below and cloudy this morning. But we are getting much needed sprinkles! 70% chance clear up to 2pm. This is a wonderful thing! Even if I need to run out and get groceries.
Safe travels to Steve as he starts his leisurely, but fun road trip to Rochester MN with his Sis.
Thinking of Darren and his family this morning too. And anyone else with a challenge that I didn't mention.
And hoping everyone else is doing good!
Had a wonderful 3 hour lunch with an ex coworker yesterday whose husband has survived his 2nd battle with cancer. She felt bad because her husband survived. But it helped reinforce my gratefulness that mine is in a better place and no longer has to battle his.
I had plans to go to lunch with a coworker tomorrow. I still do, but we were invited to go to Easter dinner by the family that came and picked up our scrap metal. Looking forward to that.

Always feel like I’m playing catch up here on the left coast with everyone already well into their day as I’m pouring my first cup of joe… Thanks for the Sumatra, @Sven , hands down my favorite coffee source!

Sun is finally poking its head out of the clouds after a couple of showers overnight… looks like rain for Easter so Im thinking it might be time to put some Nitrogen down on the lawn so the rain can wash it into the soil… Took the Bronco down to our local coffee stand last evening and the owner asked “Why is your top on?” and I had to laugh because I had been thinking about taking it off all day yesterday… After tomorrow’s rain Im thinking its coming off for awhile…

Thinking of those taking on challenges this weekend with health and other issues, hoping your Easter is filled with good food and friends! Be good to EVERYONE…
