Don’t Let the Hard Days Win!

Good Thursday morning, Kids!
After a beautiful day of sunshine yesterday the clouds have rolled in this mornin, though the sun will fight for some of the day and it seems we will avoid any wet stuff, which will be great! For those in the path of the super cold washing across the Central and Southeastern US, please use care…. There’s crazy people out there.

Steve Austin 2.0 is three days old today and thus far is haranguing me as I would expect this early in the process. I have figured out sleep this time, so that’s a good thing, and have generally used much less Oxycodone to ward off the owies…
Sonya says I am way ahead of the game compared to last time, and she probably knows better than me.

Coffee this morning is Kirkland French Roast, and breakfast will be an assortment of protein shake for those who need to dine and dash, to be used to wash down the old fashioned donuts on the counter…. Balanced diet, me thinks…

Accidentally found myself logged out and looking through my normal threads before I realized… Once I logged back in I have to say to @Laura and the BN IT gang THANK YOU for the ”ignore” option. My mental well-being is appreciative.

Get out there and make it a great day! Picture is Jupiter run on Stevens Pass, about 37 miles away!

Howdy from sunny Arizona.
@Bluestreak57 I'm glade SA2 is doing well. I'm sure knowing what to expect has made life for Sonya easier (and you).
After reading some of your weather reports, this desert rat has a question for those who deal with rain and cold.
We are planning a trip to Germany and Switzerland next year. We plan on wandering around the alps and mostly being outside on foot. While it will be in September, its still cold to me and good chance of rain, maybe even snow up at elevation. My current coat inventory is a military field jacket, a leather A2 flight jacket and a wool lined duster. Heavy and doesn't pack well. I do not own a down jacket or such things cuz if its cold, I ain't going.

I am totally unfamiliar with brands and what would be light, warm, waterproof, work with a backpack and take up less space when packing. So I'm asking for recommendations.

Waiting to go looking for a waterproof light warm jacket/coat until summer in Arizona is not a good plan. And I'm certainly not acclimated to the cold, so 45 to me is probably like 25 to you.

For those of you laughing, come on out here in July and well sit around the fire and talk about it.

Scott, were it me I would be looking for a good water (and therefore windproof shell from Columbia and would buy it sized so i could wear a sweater or two underneath…. Keeps everything light and fairly easy to pack… REI would be my shopping stop.
