Aw crap, when I seen this thing on B6G (I think), I figured it was like a $700 bike (yeah no clue on e-bike prices). But I clicked that link an it's almost $5k? WTF?

Just noticed the Mustang e-bike is only $4k. What idiot buys these things?

Heh... electric bikes are pretty popular up here in the northeast. Beats taking mass transit or sitting in traffic having to pay for parking/tolls. There's a lot of people who are into customizing/tuning/building electric bikes up here, and one of the biggest political issues right now in New York City is how the city is regulating electric bikes. Definitely a different world, I talk to people back in my hometown and most haven't even seen an electric bike before. 😉

Anyway, most are in the $2500 - $3500 range. But of the high-end ones are close to the $10,000 mark. Supposedly a company called n+ Bikes makes these, and I've never heard of them. But looks like they also do branded bikes for Mercedes, and I'm sure a good chunk of the cost is the licensing fee.

Personally never really enjoyed them, more of a Onewheel person. They have their own absurd price tag, but hey... they hella fun and it paid for itself in fuel/insurance/parking savings.

One thing the e-bike phenomenon has done is its moved people back outside…. Folks who were no longer physically able to ride as they aged have discovered the joy of two wheels again…

I see a lot of these contraptions strapped to the back of RV’s… they would be great for tooling around a campsite or taking a quick jaunt to town… Once my knees are replaced I’m thinking I’ll have one (though not Ford-branded)

Man $4500 is steep. But I have seen regular MTB will full suspension going for over $6k so not terrible. But if they had Dessert Sand I would really have to think about it.

Yeah I'm sorry, but if I'm going to spend $5k or more, I'm getting me a dirt bike that I can put gas in! 😁

They are in the same category as motored bikes. They are a road hazard, the riders have to follow the same rules as cars but don't.Then they wonder why they get splattered.

For this kind of money I can buy a Honda 125cc Trail bike. Don't understand the cost of an electric bike, especially only 60 miles at 28 MPH. I saw a video of a guy testing a EV bike like this in the mountains, he did a lot of pushing and pedaling. Decided it was a flat land vehicle.

Fair point, but do you use e -bikes? Me too but it's too late knees are shot from hockey injuries.

Truly interesting, that's what I see too. I swear I saw 4890 yesterday. Plus 390.00 for custom order (any color not area 51) I sure hope I'm not losing my mind. I wonder if they mistakenly had the 390 in the price and the disclaimer.
