Hello all, I am not an owner yet. I am an Escape owner at the moment. I have owned 4 over the last many years and I do love them. However, I’m finding that I really like the look of the Bronco Sport and have my eye on a 2024 Badlands in black. I am thinking that the value of my paid off Escape is probably at the highest it will be and I have a decent down payment to add to the trade in. I’m still trying to decode as I haven’t had a car payment in a while. The real difference I’m finding is how large the hood looks on the Bronco Sport in relation to how the Escape hood looks. It’s like the Bronco Sport is a burly guy and the Escape is a petite lady. That will take a bit of getting used to for sure. Haha, anyway, just thought I’d say hi.

Welcome & good luck with your decision.

I own 3 Escapes (two 2020 and a 2024 PHEV) and the changes between those 3 years is remarkable. The 2024 is night and day better in every way!

I also own 3 Bronco Sports (two 2022 and a 2024). All similar.

So, depending upon what/how you will use your new ride should help guide your purchase selection.

The Escape is a totally different vehicle than the Bronco Sport with a different use case too! The Bronco is a capable off-roader as compared the the Escape (even when equipped with with 4WD). I understand and agree with your apprehension about the 2 hood bumps and they do impede visibility as compared to the Escape.

Thank you, I admit that I’m not planning on doing any off roading but I think what apeals to me about the Bronco Sport is that it reminds me of the older years design of the Escape. I thought long and hard before getting my current one becau I wasn’t in love with the look, I like the square more boxy look. I’m still very much in the research and obsessing phase (haha) but I had thought that I should go and just sit in one at the dealer to see what I thought. I was also worried about the height and if I could get into it with ease. I’m not a young person, nor a lightweight either. I found it really was not much different from my Escape since I have the Titanium and the larger tires. Next step is to go and test drive and see what I think. I believe once I get over the difference in the shape of the hood I might like the more visible square hood.

Be carful, you might be opening the door to adventure. May start small with a little road trip. Then a "I wonder where that road goes?". A national parks pass. A few outfits from cabela's.......

I have owned numerous Escapes also, with my current one a PHEV. I agree they have come a long long way, and I have an ordered a new Maverick in part because its built on the same platform as my Escape. I also have a 23 Bronco Outer Banks Sasquatch with I love. If I had room in my driveway and insurance budget I would likely own a Sport.

I don’t think you can go wrong.

Welcome to the Nation. The sport is a fine ride. I had the first year Escape xls 4x4 v6 back in 2001. Loved that thing after I added the XLT armrest, fog lights and wheels. Also now own a 2016 Lincoln MKC ( gussied up escape) and as nice as that is I still have a soft spot for the old escape. I agree the Bronco sport looks much closer to that older escape than the current escape.
