Fun Off-Roading at Evan's Creek ORV Park in Washington State

I spent a day on the most difficult trail in Evan's Creek ORV Park. The park is located in Carbonado, Washington near Mount Rainier. I asked @EZAPAR to ease me into off-roading, but he clearly had other plans. Henceforth, he shall be known as "Evil Eric." LOL :devilish:

At the end of the day, I was grateful for the opportunity to explore a beautiful part of Washington State and I appreciated having a seasoned off-roader as a trail guide. It wasn't without peril, as the gouges in my wheels and scuffs on my flares will attest. Still, every scratch tells a story and these puppies were born and bred to be run OFF-ROAD, right? I already feel more comfortable driving off-road, and using the Bronco's hero switches feels natural, even second nature to me now.

It was a day of firsts for me. Before yesterday, I hadn't aired down ANY car, nor used a rapid deflator to do so. I also never aired up a vehicle and learned the hard way that air couplings get HOT AS HELL when a compressor has been running for a while. Fortunately, I didn't get any blisters on my fingers. Lesson learned. My own portable compressor will be arriving this Wednesday. I'm gearing up. I want to be as independent as possible.

It was the first time I removed the lower halves of my mud flaps and judging by the way my fender flares look now, it was a good call.

I also used several camera views in the process of navigating the impossiblynarrow passages through the woods. I could not believe where I took my Bronco. Thinking back, it was absolutely NUTS. I have a link below to a YouTube video that showed me working my way up a relatively wide (but STEEP) portion of the trail. Photos and videos never capture the scale or scope of navigating obstacles or challenging terrain. I hope you enjoy what you see...

Now get your Broncos out in the wild! 😎

The video isn't fancy at all. It's just me climbing a hill in my Bronco. It's my first, so please be kind. LOL Eric gave a shout-out to @Laura. 🤓
Chris here. I drive a 2-door Velocity Blue 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch, Lux, a 2.7L V6, and an automatic transmission. It’s fun.

It looks like a Bronco could handle that pretty well. Maybe a rocky path uphill might benefit from a rear locker. But otherwise didn't look bad if you have good ground clearance. Sure, it gets narrow in some places, and if you aren't familiar with your vehicle, that might be a problem. But otherwise, I think it would be a fun and careful run.
Thanks for sharing.

What makes it tough for the Broncos is their width. Mine is named Wilbur. Below is a pic of my old Jeep next to a Sasquatch 2 door.

Nice bit of driving. Of course, it’s easier if you’re driving an old, hammered POS and don’t care whether you get it banged up! Quite a different thing if you’re staring at years of payments and it’s your only daily driver.

Not necessarily true. For years, my daily driver was also my wheeler. Lots of different ones. I treated all of them with love and avoided any kind of damage if possible. When I finally dented up my rocker panel on my Toyota it was a proper badge of awesome. The rocky muddy trail I made it through was GNARLY. To others it would be a pos, but the 3 grand I paid for it was all the money I had back then. 😎 One of my favorite license plates of all times said 4XPOOR. I wound up trading a Samurai for the car.
Below is the pic of my Brat I was telling you about going up the final rocky hill. 26 inch tires man.

Here is the entire upper 311 trail, filmed a month ago. They knock it out in about 10 minutes. :) It's not that bad.

Great video...thanks for sharing

Not to steal this thread but you can get a similar compressor from a BN member @Tricky Dick at
https://td-distributing.myshopify.com/products/trickflate-dual-cylinder-12v-300-l-min-air-compressor
I have one from him although mine is slightly different it works great I can air up in 103 degrees from 15-39psi, all four tires in about 10-12 minutes.
Just a thought.

Thanks for the shout out. I'm selling them at their lowest price yet as well, $130 and free shipping.

Great report! I've been wanting to get back to Evan's, I was last there about 15 years ago with my buddy in his XJ.

That’s a great price, sir! I just got my compressor in the mail today. I most certainly would have given you my money if I knew you sold them earlier. I like to keep money “in the family.” 😉
