Which Bronco influencers do you like to follow on Instagram? Good, credible content, product reviews, medium following base. Thanks!

A ridiculous non-job job that Millennials and Gen Zers think they are going to be and make tons of money doing it because they have a "unicorn complex" where they are a very special unicorn and unique and everyone wants to hear their views....

Dude this was amazing - well written. I keep having to tell my 14 year old son that the number of followers an account has does not mean they are a credible source of information. And that something's value is not related to the number of `likes` attached to it.

Fortunately he seems to be growing out of his desire to be a streamer.

Anyway, my favorite Bronco youtuber is Budget Bronco. That guy is fantastic.

Social media influencer is the new professional sports athlete. All the young kids want to be one, and very few of them will actually be successful enough to make a living out of it.

To @jparker 's point... automobile influencers are a good 3-5 years behind the curve. The buy-in price for vehicles is high enough that most people won't be able to afford a "play" vehicle until their mid/late-30s. Most millennials are just now hitting that age, so it's coming soon... very soon. Once the Gen Z folks hit that age it's going to be insane. Brace yourself.

Social blade is not remotely accurate. There is way more money in it than likes or views. Brand deal, paid promotions, white labeling, UGC, all of these things are brokered deals. It's a job, and like the majority of people with jobs, they're in it for the money.

Even millennials are too old to fully understand and execute well on social media. There are very, very few millennials who do social media super well, and most of them aren't in the automotive space. Social media and influencing is a billion dollar industry with top earners making six to seven figures for a post. We didn't call 15 million dollar TV spots insane and a non-job, this is the evolution of that.

Yeah I agree. I do think millennials have enough of a understand to know it's value, and once millennials get into leadership positions at these big automobile manufacturers we'll see automobile manufacturers looking to advertise using social media MUCH more than they are now.

But the vast majority of social media billionaires are going to be Gen Z and younger, the industry was just too new for most millennials, and many of them had already started their careers when social media became a truly viable job.

As a borderline Gen X/millennial individual I can tell you right now I do NOT understand the desire of Instagram or especially TikTok. It just doesn't make any sense to me at all why people find that entertaining. But I understand enough of it to know it has value, so if I was leading a company trying to sell a product... I would be hiring young people right now to figure that space out and get us a ticket on that train. 🚇

Just a note:

Linear television advertising is not a comparable industry to social media influencing. The latter is not an evolution of the former. I will happily engage in a debate on a media forum or via direct messaging on media*, media measurement, and media definitions.

*Media defined as linear media, biddable media, addressable media (which technically is just a subset of biddable media), social media, digital media (including, but not limited to, sound on/off media, skippable versus non-skippable, impact of the ability to scroll, banner ads, display ads, pop-up ads).

Now back to Broncos! Gitty up!

Jeez. The OP just wanted to enjoy some Bronco content. I don't think they needed (or wanted) a dissertation on the merits and detractions of social media and mass marketing. :geek:

Speaking of social media and whatnot... I've heard that BN's own @jparker will be on the @All Terrain Nation live stream show on Monday!

I know, I'm bad... apologies to OP. My first career was broadcast engineering, and you could feel that the broadcast world is feeling a LOT of market pressure from online social media. Unless you are willing to be on the road 280+ days a year doing live professional sports, there isn't really any money to be made in broadcast television anymore. I ended up switching careers and doubling my pay within 3 years. I despise social media for killing my industry, but also find it super interesting at the same time.

This appears to just be another click bait thread .
Original post Feb 1st almost 2 days ago , and no interaction from the OP as of right now.

You realize that not all of us log on here 10 times per day, right? 😎 I'd actually be interested to know what the average is. once per day? Once every few days? Once per week?

Yeah ,
I know.
Just sharing an opinion.
I Figured if someone started a post for information they would check it out every once and awhile.
I’ll delete my earlier post if you don’t think it should have been posted.

No, I think it's a good question/point. I just think that 1 or 2 days might be a bit of a short fuse on that. No worries. Just keep in mind that not everyone is as passionate about this forum as we are. LOL. Which is a polite way of saying I'm an addict and probably need a 12 step program! Too funny,
Yep That’s me in a nutshell.
Most of the reply’s to the thread are from very recognizable members.
Who (just like yourself) are trying to help people out with what they can.
I won’t really pick an influencer/ Non influencer side.
If people need it for their comfort food go for it.
If not , state your case why and move on. “Maybe there’s value in why not trusting an influencer “ I don’t know.

Sometimes I just feel like a Walmart greeter…
“Yep isle 17 is what your looking for”

“What’s that ?
Which cereal is best ?”
Way too many different wants or needs.

No worries Mate !!!
I’m sure we’ll catch up in the next thread !

It's weird cuz a couple of weeks ago I was telling some friends of mine if YouTube would have been around when I had my first Bronco I'd be a multi-cazillionaire.
Cuz I put that thing through hell and back. Back in the good old days when drinking and driving was just frowned upon.

There are really good influencers and really bad ones. There is immense power of influencer marketing but sadly the automotive world doesn't have a ton of strong contenders. It's a Gen-Z industry so age will have a massive impact on how you view and think of influencers.
Nope, just tools leading the sheep. They're all losers.

Marketing Analytics - Niiiice. I work for Adobe as a Product Manager on the Experience Cloud side. Lots of Analytics and optimization going on here. Trying to use GA on my own personal manufacturing site, but it's been a long time since I've used it. Good summary btw :)

You built that rack for the back? If so, when will you have some in? I want one!
