Where are you headed this year?

Wherever you go, there you are!

Mar 10, 2025

I thought this might be a cool thread for people to share where they plan on taking trips this year.. Feel free to add in where you are going, what you are doing and mention if others are invited to join in any off-road and camping trips this year..

I generally try to get out every few weeks in the Spring, Summer and Fall for camping and off-roading fun. I am a weather wimp and plan them around any cold nights and avoid any forecasted rainy days. These short tips are local'ish and generally 3 day - 2 night trips.

My major trips for this year are:

  • Black Hills, SD with several other Bronco owners from May 24-26 (Memorial Day weekend)
  • Overland Expo MTN West from August 22-24 in Loveland, CO
  • A mega Bronco extravaganza from August 30-September 6 in Ouray, CO

*If you are in the Nebraska area, you are also more than welcome to join me on any of my bi-weekly off-road and camping trips. For those I generally like to go out for 3 days and 2 nights, disperse camp, and go during the weekday for less trail traffic..

I have a short trip this week (wed, thurs and fri) to the Nebraska National Forest. Short notice, but any and all are welcome to join in the fun.

Where are you going this year?

A few big trips this year, some with and some without OB-1
1. Going to Japan for almost a month at the end of May to chase grandkids and eat sushi.
2. Hoping to do lots of day trips around the PNW with the Bronco…
3. Ouray, CO with a group from here on Bronco Nation Labor Day Week…
4. DiL’s Birthday in October, going to have a bash in Vegas. Will drive the Bronco and make a big road trip out of the the deal, continuing on the NM to visit @Darrel and then home through Utah, stopping in the National Parks of Southern Utah along the way… Should be lots of fun…

On top of that, Sonya and I each have 50 year HS reunions to attend, and a birthday bash for a DiL in Vegas in October… Hoping to see a show in the Sphere when there…

Just a quiet year…. After six months of recuperating knees I’m ready to GO

Great idea @raqball!

I have 3 big trips planned for 2025, 2 of those being to Super Cel TN & CO. The other being the Woodward Dream Cruise event. I'm hoping Ford will do something big for the Bronco's 60th Birthday that week and I can spend all week up in Michigan doing Bronco stuff.

I'm one of the admins for the Arkansas Broncos and we've started doing monthly meetups to ride trails in either the Ozark or Ouachita National Forest. Anyone is welcome at these events and I post where we are going in our club on this site. You're also welcome to join our facebook group if you'd like, just search Arkansas Broncos.

We also have in the central Arkansas area a local Rigs and Coffee event each month on the third Saturday open to any vehicle and we will typically do a ride in the Ouachita National Forest after that event.

We are focused on staying in the four corners states this year. Looks like we are going to Sedona, Grand Canyon, Moab, Rocky Mountain National Park, and a load of trail riding/ camping here in NM. I am still trying to make it to super Cel West, but life keeps making that difficult.

Do you all do any extended camping and off-roading trips? Like 3 days - 2 nights or more? If so, let me know the details and I'll plan an Arkansas trip whenever you have such an event...

We haven't yet but we are considering it for our April event.

Let me know.. I am down for the trip.. You can PM me the details once you get them fixed.

FWIW, I have the camper shown in the 1st post. I do not need shore power and I am fine with either a camping spot that allows small campers (mine is 12 feet with the tongue) or dispersed camping..

So far Moab at the End of this Month, Probably a trip to Merus at some point this year. And as @Mal says try to get to Supercell West it is hard to get away at the beginning of the school year but this year the wife says she's put in almost 30 years with out taking time off during the school year she is due so fingers crossed we can make it this go around. Maybe as summer break gets closer we can talk about a trip maybe to Woodward, since that is in the summer and I can work from anywhere, plus we have a project going on that is just a few hours away.

  • April: Super Celebration East (if I am allowed to bear weight on my left foot after recent surgery in February).
  • A weekend in August: Semi-annual Windrock trip in Oliver Springs, TN
  • A weekend in October: Turkey Bay in KY
  • Might try one of the Arkansas events put on by @broncorob3 and crew, but it'd be quite the haul for me.

Like you several 2-3 day trips to who knows where.
I do have a geo-cache trip of sorts up near Kalispel that needs to be made for a fellow BN member since I never got there last year.
The moth and I should get some good miles on this year in between all the chaos with work ownership changing.

Normandy...don't think I can get the Bronco there. But I'm going to Atlanta, MI to hunt for elk sheds in early April. Thought a nice set of racks on the hood of the Bronco would be better then a set of bull horns. :0)

OK, well, first thing isn't a trip, it's getting my back fixed so I CAN go on trips. But after that:
  1. Some day trips around home (Santa Clarita, CA) scattered throughout the year (I try to do a run every month or two. After that I get jumpy)
  2. A work trip to Nashville in May
  3. Big Bear Bronco Bash in June with SoCal Broncos
  4. Colorado trip the first week in Sept. with some friends from Bronco Nation
