Lots of Broncos: 2026 Silver Lake Sand Dunes (MI) + Bronco Takeover

Been meaning to get these up, simply because who doesn't like looking at Broncos? These are from the Michigan Bronco Club Bronco Takeover Birthday Bash, Aug. 7, and Silver Lake Sand Dunes, Aug. 8. Few from Saturday because I was having fun driving!

On Thursday, Jeff's Bronco Graveyard leads a drive to see the S.S. Badger come in (ferry from Ludington, Mi to Manitowoc, WI + shoreline cruises). It's a nice scenic drive through back roads with people peeling off for some famous fish at Bortell's, ice cream and whatever else).

My campsite; lots of great places to stay in the area close to the dunes.

Sorry, had to. XJs were my first 4x4 love and I get excited by a minimal rust one. You definitely don't see the 2-doors often either

If you go to Mears for the dunes, stop by Little Sable Point Lighthouse, one of Michigan's many historical lighthouses (we have 129 in the state).

It was built in 1874, is a 115 feet tall, and is on a great public beach for swimming. Just get your state park sticker for entry (or have it on your license plate), and you're all set to enjoy. You can climb the tower for a small cost, but I have always headed straight to the water.

@alyd09 led a good-sized group of Bronco owners over the dunes from the campground in an unofficial parade. It kept growing way past this amount.

Careful with the "puddles" at Silver Lake, some are way deeper (over the hood) than they look!

So if you want a fun place to off-road, go camping, and enjoy Michigan's gorgeous coastline, Silver Lake is it.

Thanks for posting all these pics! I did not take near as many pics of Silver Lake as I would have liked. I did create a little video though of some fun at the sand dunes.

That's fun video though, I was smiling as much watching it as I was off-roading that day. Did you have your panels on?

Yeah, still had panels on but had windows down. Had to have some protection from the sun that day. It was hot!

It was! I was surprised how burned I got just driving. I miss my window tint lol
