Got Rubicon?

This past summer a group of Broncos from the East Coast and Texas joined up with some California Broncos to run the Rubicon Trail in Northern California. It was an awesome trip. We spent 2 days on the trail and camped overnight at Buck Island Lake. We ran the trail from the Tahoe entrance to the southwest exit so we came down Cadillac Hill instead of going up it. What a great trail! I thought I would be a bit disappointed because of the the hype about the Rubicon. I can assure you I was not disappointed at all. The trail is not that difficult, but the obstacles never let up! The scenery is fantastic, and while we were there we also ran Fordyce Trail.

Here are some pics of the adventure!

I've done the Rubicon on a stock Wrangler with the Jeep Jamboree folks and had a blast with a 2 day / one overnight trip. Am looking to now buy the Badlands in 2021 and do it with a Bronco. Really interested if anyone is organizing a future (summer 2021?) event over the trail.
I’d definitely be in on this trip if it happens! Always wanted to run the Rubicon. It’s a bit too far to drive my 66 to but I’d be more than happy to take the new one!

I think they got some snow last weekend, hopefully it didn't stick. I think it's usually safe to plan a trip for June! hint hint...

Ran the trail two weeks ago, still deep snow on the east facing slope after Spider Lake. Should be melting fast.

Did you take your 6g through or another rig?

Didn’t take to many , my photographer ( daughter) wasn’t with us. Didn’t go pass Spider, a lot of water in the creek and tree lined areas. A few Toyota’s Where trying to push deeper in through the snow but I turned back.

Awesome photo. Looks like that tree in the background is tagged for removal

It will do all right if the driver is careful. Not great but definitely doable. The underside takes a beating but stock skids keep everything protected. Lift and tires help. A few stocks SAS have completed the trail without issue. On the flip side a few also suffered some damage ie broken racks and minor scrapes.
