Today while reading this forum another Bronco member mentioned his mustang. Multiple people I know on here have a couple ponies to ride. I figure Several people have more than one horse with the Ford brand in the stable.
Ford made these two machines for fun, and a way of life. We have so many accessories for them.
Let's see your corral.

I like to get the setup as close to how I want to use it. So for me, out of the box..... Badlands sasquatch. Add an air compressor and cooler then hit the trails.
Shelby GT500. Add a helmet and high temp brake fluid and hit the track.

Fun fact, the Shelby has wider tires!

I would also like to point out that when it comes to classic icons.. um...2 door

Nice! There's also really no response to my car has a Track Key, what does yours have?

The Shelby doesn't have an option for a street key....

What it needed was high temp brake fluid. I changed mine, but not high enough.
Brake and clutch use the same reservoir.
I got the fluid hot. At the end of the straight when I went to downshift, no clutch!

You can coast a long way at 100 mph. By the time I rolled into the pits, I had clutch.

My first car was the most important mustang ever, a 1975. Mine was a Silver Ghia with the V8 mine had tons of work done on the engine so it was pretty quick for a 13 year old Pinto errr. Mustang and I Loved that car I did a ton of work on it and repainted it a dark grey. but now that I live on a ranch with 0 pavement and fairly rough road. so now my vehicles have a little more clearance so my Broncos Stable mate is a 2004 F250 looks stock but has had a little work done😈

BN 1100, Desert Sand Everglades. Reservation 7/30/20. ordered 1/22/21, reordered 10/15/21 dropped tow and hard top, reordered 3/9/22 changed to Everglades. production date 9/7/22 rescheduled 9/14/22 completed 9/26/22, shipped 10/7/22, arrived 10/31/22, delivered 11/03/22

I’m a little slow on this thread as I had a little knee surgery downtime. Anywho - here are some of the Ford’s in the stable - ‘19 Super Snake and my little ‘36 Ford tri-powered flathead with a Detroit blower - otherwise stock.

I get it, I love Shelbys and own a vegas built Shelby and met Carroll, BUT a track key is next level. It recalibrates everything, it's like having 2 motors and 2 ECUs in one. The easily adjustable suspension is sweet too. Though Shelby did have the Don Prudhomme edition which essentially had a switch that was like a track key and was a turnkey NHRA sanctioned car that was street legal but sadly the recession led to somewhere between only 5-8 being built plus the prototype if I recall correctly.

A Shelby direct from Shelby American is a special one. Do you go to the bash there? I missed this year because I went to Moab.

I Definitely recommend getting the brake res isolator kit from Shelby for the manual cars. I noticed a significant drop in both brake and trans Temps as it creates separate systems for the 2. It's nice no longer having the short shifter shaft getting hot on track days! I can send you a link if you'd like but it's available at Shelby Performance Parts.

I haven't been to the bash for many years. The vibe seems different since Carroll's passing and Amy leaving. It was much more akin to this club before, now it seems more just for people with deep pockets and lots of free time, less about enthusiasts. I really wish I had made it to the Terligua ranch events while Carroll was still around. If you like the bashes you might want to check out the Terlingua event it's not highly publicized but you can get on the mailing list for event dates and details.

I still regret not getting an S197 Shelby Terlingua. Just couldn't bring myself to get a six banger. They are hands down the coolest 6ers ever made though. Especially in black with yellow hood.

Thanks for that link. We do want to try some different Shelby/Cobra events. I'm already working on 2025 trips.
I really like the track at Spring Mountain that they use during the bash. And that is the biggest reason we go to that event.
And yes, the Terlingua black with yellow hood looks amazing.

Given your garage decor, you'll appreciate this. The first time I took the wife to Shelby American and we entered the gift store, I said, look honey, I don't have everything.

And when people would ask how much it cost to build my cobra, she always butts in and says don't forget the shirts, hats, movies, watch, posters, signs and jackets.

Yeah it certainly helps having a wife that supports the addiction. Whenever we go I make sure we do something my wife wants first because we're going to be at Shelby a hot minute. She's patient but no need in testing it. Did you make it to the original vegas location before they moved? Being right next to Nascar track you could occasionally catch testing of "the next one"

If you're ever in the bay area, Santa Rosa is great and is also where DEN Beste Motors is. This is the place to get the SHELBY Shelby Cobras and see alot of collector Shelbys of all kinds along with another gift shop ofcourse. They even have DenBeste wines (different site) that feature different Shelbys on the labels and wood boxes. Post covid I think you still have to call ahead but still a very cool much lesser known Shelby destination.

My wife isn't a shopper and yet she always comes away with a few shirts. She also drives it on the track. She's not hardcore. She'll do about half her sessions. She always gets a thrill ride from Gary.
I did get to the speedway location once. It was during a cobra event.

I need to see that. Thanks, I don't think I ever heard of that place.
I did go to a Shelby event at Sonoma. Fun track. Lots of elevation changes.

I had a 2021 manual GT - Red. Can't find a pic. 460 HP put a Roush Super Charger in it and it gave us 750HP. It was a fun car. For not being a car guy I have owned a few nice cars. Mainly a bike guy. It sure chewed up tires. Although I seem to do that on every vehicle I own so no surprise.

In 2021 I had an Aortic Heart valve replacement and bought the GT from a dealer friend over the phone and popped in the Super Charger. After the Heart Valve I went on a slight buying spree...haha. Sold it and got my first Bronco. I like driving trucks. We have an F250 which my wife drives which I love.

I get it. It is nice to like machines. I also bought this after the Heart valve. I guess I figured I needed to go quick....

After flying around in the car and the XR 1000 I sold the car as mentioned and got the Bronco. I also went back to a bike more my style. Dirt man...dirt.. I love it.

Have fun in your cars....they sure are nice and I am sure fun to drive. I know I hijacked the thread and turned it into a German Bike thread.....oops.

At least you included Sarge.
I guess one way to look at it is the Bronco is a performance machine. And some of us just gravitate to vehicles that do more than just drive down the road.
Vehicles that the driver can be part of.
Cars, bikes and Broncos.

Yup, they do look nice under the hood.
I love the looks of the vintage FE big block. When my 428 expired it became garage art. Dressed and on an engine stand.
This is the new one. Aluminum 427 side oiler on the Dyno.

I had a 2001 F350 V10 that I added a Paxton supercharger to the first month of it's life. Better mpg, tons of power. Loved it.
Then premium fuel went from 97 to 94 octane. Paxton sold and I couldn't get it tuned right. Spark knock and blowers don't work. It ate a piston.
That is why I like out of the box performance on the new vehicles.
My daily driver is a F350 crew cab diesel dually and the only mods are mudflaps and camper tie downs. My truck just does so many things and so easy (except drive thru's and park)

I had a 2001 F250 with the V10 I loved that thing. One of the only vehicles I ever regretted getting rid of. Needed more interior space so traded it in on a Suburban. Then I got the 04 with the mighty 6.0 powerstoke, which was a great motor when it ran, now she has a 5.9 p-pumped 12v Cummins, mated to a very built 47RH. Did the conversion way back when the ford trannys just were not playing nicely with the controllers like they do now.
