My first time off roading in my bronco! We are headed to the beach. I know there’s a sand mode, but I’m reading/seeing different info about the rear lockers. I have a base 2dr badlands. Also, should I worry about the sway bar disconnect or just leave it alone? It’s my first time driving on sand in any vehicle so I’m not too sure. Having a hard time finding good informational YouTube videos other than to air down.

In regards to the stabilizer disconnect, I have been told by numerous trail guides and others I am traveling with to always disconnect when off pavement. It just provides a better ride quality all around. And I would just use the sand GOAT mode, it will make all of the adjustments for you.

I'd agree with TK1215, just use your GOAT mode setting for sand. Don't overthink it, I've driven Carova beach in Corolla many times, sand mode works just fine. DON'T forget to airdown (18-20psi)! That is probably the most important step. Watch the tides, if you plan on driving all the way to the VA border high tide makes some parts of the beach very thin, you really don't want to drive through salt water.

The most important part is to air down to 15-20# IMO. We have spent many vacations in the off road section and driving the beach and back sandy road/trails. Gentle warning, check the depth of those back road water holes. Trust me the first time you go in over your hood you realize they are deceptively deep at times. My Tundra never needed anything but 4 high and an air down. Just keep your speed up when leaving the beach and over dunes. Have fun!

Only made it to the beach one day because the hurricane caused big surf and really high tides. Was barely enough room to drive and bronco went for a decent swim. Wasn’t really a difference between low and high tide

I suppose the pending hurricane did make a difference. Hope you washed your Bronco after the swim. Hopefully you will get to drive the beach in better weather because it's a lot fun.
