Hi,
Can anyone tell me if this is any way legal/ethical? I reserved a Bronco Outer Banks in July 2021, my order for a 2022 was placed Sept 2021. My dealer contacted me today - by email - to tell me this:
"We just received one of our first retail orders with a hard-top in a 4-door model. We made the decision last night that the selling price would be 10000 above MSRP on our retail orders for the remainder of this model year and 20000 for those Broncos with a hard-top for stock. We have seen pre-owned Broncos consistently priced above 30000 over the original MSRP so we felt that we are well back of the current market. I know and understand how frustrating this entire process has become but I wanted to be upfront with you know that the decision has been made on price. Production dates continue to be postponed on all vehicle lines so there is still a chance that your order not be fulfilled in this model year. If so, we will reevaluate the market before determining that price too. "
Can they just tack on $20,000 to the price of the MSRP for the Bronco I ordered back in September, just because the value has increased? This seems incredibly unethical if not illegal.
Has anyone else been told this?
Thanks,
