Eagle-eyed members of the Bronco community, RagnarKon and Long McArthur’s Tim Bartz, have done some digging on Ford Build & Price and recognized changes coming to Bronco production beginning July 10, 2023.
If you have an order in now or want to place an order, pay attention to what may be different for you. Note: If you have a build date and VIN, your order should be produced the way you intended.
What’s New
Ford brings both good and bad with this round of changes.
Marine Grade Vinyl
Previously, Black Diamond and Badlands were the two models MGV came standard on. Now, Ford will be expanding the seat-cover offering to Base and Big Bend. With the MGV comes the rubberized washout flooring with the active drain plugs.

Many people who have this material love it, so if you’ve been interested in one of these two trims, we hope you will be pleased with it too. I’d spent many hours in Broncos with cloth, MGV, and leather, and after doing so, chose MGV for my own vehicle.
Bash Plates and the Heavy-Duty Modular Front Bumper
This change will be disappointing for nearly anyone wanting to off-road their Bronco: For those who upgrade to the HD Modular Front Bumper, Ford will not be including the front steel bash plates on Base, Big Bend, and Outer Banks.
While aftermarket skid plate options are available, Bronco has a name of being an “off-the-line capable” off-roader. Amour, whether rock rails or underbody protection, are an integral part of keeping important components of your vehicle safe, and many like the look of the modular bumper. If you upgrade to the modular bumper, having to add plates on after delivery will be a frustrating change for many owners.
