Famously, the Model T was limited in body color. If you wanted one between 1914 and 1925, you were getting it in black. So much for standing out from your neighbor. But that’s a last century problem.
For 2026, Ford is offering customers a bunch of choices. Dozens of body color and hard top combinations have been unlocked, with the intent of helping you customize your Bronco to your style and hobbies.
One Trim, So Many Tops
The new model year updates, announced in October, included the news that the 4-door Bronco Badlands would receive the option to mix and match painted hard tops with the eight different body colors available.
Prior to the 2026 model, painted tops appeared here and there: Oxford White tops for the Heritage and Heritage Limited Edition Broncos; Shadow Black as a 2024 mid-year change; body color-matching tops for only the Raptor at first, which broadened to include more trims in 2025; and the 2025 Stroppe’s unique Atlas Blue top.
Now, for the 4-door Badlands at least, the options feel close to unlimited, among the options presented. There are only a few combinations of colors that Ford makes unavailable.
“We created this unlock to allow for the customer to truly make it their own, giving you the Badlands’ capability with the color creativity,” said Haley Skiko, Bronco brand manager.
With this palette expansion, you play the designer: Will you go with a glossy saturated look, like top to bottom Ruby Red or Velocity Blue Metallic? Conceal your Bronco in Desert Sand with a Marsh Gray top? Or do something hometown-related, like Haley’s top pick:
“My personal favorite? Oxford White body with Velocity Blue roof –– GO LIONS!”
Making Your Bronco 'You'
Recently, Bronco Nation covered a few more Ford reveals that help you customize your Bronco, including the Bronco Modular Grille and the Ford Custom Garage SEMA FPORV Package.
While the latter is a concept, Ford Custom Garage has multiple limited-edition packages that can be added on to your order now, taking your Bronco out of the crowd and setting it apart, all while staying under warranty.
The 4-door Badlands’ new roof options come at a good time, too, as this month’s news has circled around Bronco sales catching up to those of the Jeep Wrangler. More and more of us Built Wild fans are on the road, but you don’t have to look like you’re part of a fleet.
Decisions, Decisions
So, if you want to go the factory route and have your Bronco delivered in turnkey, customized condition, you can take Ford up on its offer to create something that speaks to you. First, you’ll need to decide the color combos. Tone on tone, or mix and match?
The costs:
- $2,695 for a body color-painted hard top (Ruby Red top on a Ruby Red body, for example)
- $3,195 for a painted hard top in a different color (Avalanche top on a Ruby Red body). We get to $3,195 because the $500 painted roof colors require adding the $2,695 ‘Hard Top, Body Color-Painted’ option, as well.
The painted roofs cost more than the standard soft top or the Molded-in-Color (MIC) hard top ($1,795), but it may be worth it for you if you've had concerns about the MIC top or just like the smoother, glossy look. And while aftermarket hard tops are coming out in different styles and colors, not many are offered in this broad a range yet, with Armadillo Designs’ custom powdercoat option coming the closest.
Getting an OEM hard top after Bronco delivery can be more expensive than starting with the top you want now (Ford lists the 4-door MIC top at $5,495 and doesn’t sell the painted hard top as a unit), so if you’re thinking you may want a painted roof, have your dealer check the box when ordering your Bronco.
All Available 2026 4-Door Badlands Color Combinations
Below, you’ll find the Bronco Badlands body colors plus the tops that can be paired with them. We included everything: the body color-matched hard tops, painted roofs, and even the MIC (which has been a good top for me; I’ve had two without issues).
