Hey everyone,

Here's the first of a series of articles diving in to the FordPass Performance app. It's a pretty cool feature of the 2021 Ford Bronco and we can't wait for you to see all the details.

It says everyone with the Mid Package on up will get access to all the features. I’m excited to see how the app works.

Wonderful! Like food for a starving man! ;)
Curious, are you able to share how many parts in the series and the timeline?

To me, after doing the interview, I think that Mid package is table stakes for a new Bronco. However, if you already have something that you like using like OnX, then you're giving up the vehicle integration but will still get where you want to go.

Four to five, first two are written. Not trying to drag it out, just have to find time to write. :oops:

Curious if this is backwards compatible (for my 14 F150) as the existing vehicle health feature on the truck seems to no longer be supported by Ford

Just a thought. Hoping there will be a way to import Round-Up gpx files into Trail Maps. In many sections of the country, such as New England, we create custom trail maps in gpx format. Fingers crossed! :)

There's going to be a lot of confusion about this. Bronco has two apps, FordPass and FordPass Performance. FordPass is the same one as on all the current Fords and has great maintenance tracking features and it can turn your car on as well as unlock it. FordPass Performance is trail maps and offroad nav.

To add one more "layer", there is also a Ford Performance app. That app is geared to the Ford GT community for recording track runs.
(By the way, I believe Navico is a New Hampshire company. Also, DeLorme in Maine was purchased by Garmin. Shane may have worked at DeLorme. He may be a New England guy. Interesting!)

I would agree, but I like manual transmissions and I don't need a Badlands.

David, this all sounds awesome and I have been patiently waiting for info on how this will work, so many thanks. One question, and maybe you are going to get to this point, so apologies if that is the case. You said that all with Mid Package and higher will have access. Is the Connected Built In Nav with the subscription services required for these TrailMap features/functionality? Many Thanks,

So those of us with a basesquatch are left out of the party or can we still use the app without the vehicle integration

@BuzzyBud reminds me of a quote I saw on an old pickup truck once a long time ago;

Ditto on that! Maybe they just assume most MT drivers like things the old fashioned way! Somehow I’m guessing it’s more along the lines of “fine we will R&D a manual, but they’re paying for that development if they want any options with it!”
I would like to order a badlands so I could get a mid package with my MT but that would ridiculous for me to spend an extra $7,000 just because I want heated seats, and in this case access to an app. Sounds really cool, and would love to check it out! But I think I’m just going to stick with the BD Std Pack MT I have ordered.

Is the trail map and app included in the Bronco Sport?
