Finally Here! The Ford Trail App for Bronco

For years, Day 1 reservationists and early order holders have looked forward to a missing piece from the Bronco launch: the Bronco Trail App, formerly referred to as the FordPass Performance app.

Today is the big day. Ford is launching the Bronco Trail App at Moab Bronco Safari, and it’s available now in the Apple App Store and Google Play for free download and use. Prior to launch, the app was marketed for Mid Package Broncos and up. As of today, the Bronco Trail App’s FAQs state the app will determine if you have an eligible vehicle.

The Bronco-specific off-road app features approximately 1,200 professionally curated trail maps across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. It provides the ability to record drives with waypoints, photos, and video –– and lets you share your adventure on social media. Future updates will add more trails and features to the app.

From the developer: If the app crashes on you when recording, power off your phone, restart it, open the app, and leave it running.
If you force close the app, it will crash again when recording, and you'll need to do the power-off on cycle.

That’s awesome @Laura … and it looks great. I have a question though: maybe I’m missing it but does the app give directions to the trail heads?

When I can, I’m anxious to check out some of these trails.

Yes, go to download, and you will get a "send trailhead to vehicle" option.

I love all the techie stuff with offroading these days! Back in my day, we had to hammer/chisel on the tablet to set out waypoints, use a gallon of water and 20ft of tygon hose to determine our incline!
Will have to check this out!

I’m really surprised to find a few trails around me that I didn’t spot in OnX off road. I think a road trip will happen soon!

Is there a way to see who the user is that submitted trail reports/maps? The guy that has been submitting just south of me is a guy I want to hang with...he has done nearly all of SE Oklahoma!

Heh. Found my first bug. Surprised Apple let this go through. After I uploaded my profile pic from my photos, the app asked for permission to access my photos. Supposed to be the other way around.

Am I understanding this correctly, you can only use the record feature if your phone is connected to your Bronco? It’s using the Bronco’s gyroscope and not the phone’s?

@jparker has been testing the app and we do plan to do more with it. I'm looking forward to @broncosport4thewin getting her time in with it too –– she has so much experience using apps and maps; it will be fun to hear her opinion.

Cool we were just heading out for a day drive breaking in the engine. Perhaps we may be able to hit a trail on the app. Good to know and have. Thanks. I wouldn't know about it if I wasn't here. I kinda just stay in my lane and don't pay attention to much. This is good to know!

Pretty neat but I will say I have concerns when I see Slickrock rated easier than Corral Hollow??? I don’t think so. But I will give it a try! NorCal area just south of Tahoe for those that have no idea what I’m talking about.
