Recently I started getting a Park Aid Fault message on my 2024 Bronco in the instrument cluster every time I start the Bronco and put it in reverse.

On 2026-07-07 I went to the dealer to install software for a recall and asked them to look at the fault. They said the rear parking aid electrical connector C425 was broken and not covered by warranty and quoted $955 to repair. I thought how could a connector become broken and said I would think about it and call back. Then I was charged a $193 diagnostic fee.

Today I examined C425 and it was unplugged. No matter how hard I pressed the connector together, it would not click into place. I read another account of this on the Bronco6G forum where a user simply blew out all of the dirt in the connector with electrical contact cleaner, and it clipped back together. The clip mechanism and both sides of the connector look normal and are not damaged. Maybe the connector was not up to spec at assembly? As such, the connector issue may be an odd corner case event. I don't think I should be charged for this since the connector is not damaged.

I love my Bronco and would appreciate someone contacting me from Ford on this issue. I can provide the quote, photo of the connector, and anything else you need.

Thanks!

So a couple of questions for you:
How many miles on the Bronco.
Any accidents
Any damage to the connector, possibly caused by road or off road debris?
These sensors and connectors are in fact covered by the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty.

I would absolutely document the connector and if there is any damage. Go right to the service manager and talk to them. Everyone has a boss. If the answers to my questions are no, they are full of shite. A complete wiring harness is a little over $100. A single connector might run $35-$85. They should also refund that diagnostic fee. They plug an OBD II into the port and it tells them. Double check and get the actual part number. You have to be your own advocate.

My Bronco is under 2 years old with only 23,000 miles. I just detached part of the wheel well liner and took extensive photos of both ends of the connector that I will present to the service manager. Thanks for your advice!

Do you take it off road? Always good to have the answers to their questions before they ask. Remember they work for you and their solutions are not acceptable. Stay calm, have receipts and be ready to tell them what they are gonna do for you. Stand firm and be ready to go up the ladder and or bad online reviews and social media posts

Yes, I go off road on desert trails 1-2 times a month. But I haven't driven over any thick brush out there. Will do...I've got the estimate, diagnostic receipt, and printed 4 photos of the connector. So I've got what I need to present to the service manager and have looked up his contact info. Thanks!

I find that having a good working relationship with my service manager is a worthwhile endeavor.
