Had my Bronco a couple months. 2000 miles. I have the 2.3 manual in my Badlands. When I start it up in the morning I hear what sounds like a grinding, somethings loose kind of noise. When I push the clutch in it seems to go away. It also seems to go away after it has been driven a while. Anyone else experiencing this? Is it normal? I have an appointment to bring the truck in tomorrow 1/12/22. I will let everyone know how I make out.

Just confirmed with my dealer. TSB 22-2371 released on 12/13/22 and looks like it replaces gearbox synchro rings that are causing the grinding noise. Plan to call service departments and get work done!

Good to know it's acknowledged, I just called my dealer today. Feb 6th appt, at least it's driveable.
Maybe this is my paranoia from past cars that have had trans work, but I'm not a fan of dealer disassembling a brand new trans to swap out some parts with the tolerances in modern transmissions. I'm hoping they will see clear to replace it, once confirmed this has been addressed with the vendor.

Picked mine up today with eight miles on it. Noticed the trany making what I think is the dreaded noise on the way home. Only really here it in first and second gear.

Hope not, but you'll know more after a few cold starts. You have to press the clutch to start, but then release the clutch in neutral and mine has very clear rattle / grinding noise that cycles some - quiet, then rattles - quiet, rattles - repeats. Then I also hear a more faint rattle (almost like engine pinging) in 1st and 2nd.

My blend was 10/24 - so we were not far apart on the line - just got mine earlier. Judging by all that snow on the ground, yours had to go further to find you. Great pic though - really clean Bronco on all that slush! Great color combo also with the orange BL badges... Congrats!

Just picked up my 2.3L manual last week and experiencing the same issue. I drove it from Chicago to Denver w/o issue in very cold, snowy weather. I've also noticed it pop out of 1st a couple of times. Sometimes hard to get into 1st too. Going to call my dealer about TSB 22-2371 now. Super happy with the Bronco, but this is disappointing.

Let us know what they said , please.
The service tech came to the house, and first said they would need to replace the rear axel. Then said they could order just the tone ring. Apparently mine is out of alignment. Ok drive, but no 4x4. Good thing I work from home! No idea when the part will come in.

Yup. If I had to take it in the earliest appointment was Dec 28th. The dealership here is pretty good. Had a very positive experience from the start.

So, after following production on line, I got a call that my 2023 MT Bronco BL was being prepped at dealer and went over and looked at it. Super happy, just waiting for the call to pick it up. Late yesterday, I got the call that the transmission is making the dreaded noise. It was cold in SE PA but nothing extreme-- 33 degree-- and the noise occurred while the car was being warmed up.

Since there is no TSB for the '23 model year, they are on the phone with Ford. They are assuming that its the same problem as '22 and that it will require what they called "a whole bunch of parts" to fix the problem. I saw the MT transmission is made in China. I try and keep an open mind and realize that China is a very advanced country with capable manufacturing but a MT is not really new technology. This is so depressing after waiting over two years for the Bronco to arrive.

I know MTs are low take items in the US and companies are not investing big money to develop or improve them, but either ditch them or make them right. What a bummer. New vehicle that failed due to one of its most low tech components.

I am a little lost. TSB 22–2371. My understanding is that the repairs are supposed to be done by the dealer before delivery. If I’m off the mark here, can someone please correct me. Thanks

My dealer was confused because the TSB does not specifically refer to the '23 model year. The dealer stated that it believes that the TSB only refers to 21-22 model years, so they are calling to confirm its the same problem with the same fix. Otherwise, there is a small risk that its a different problem if the old problem was corrected before the current model year.

The dealer didn't deliver the car and is on the phone with Ford. In a perfect world, I think the dealer would like to do the repairs before delivery. My best guess is that they will deliver the car, and call me when the parts come in and the technician is ready to do the work. Then I will bring it back and hope they can fix it in a reasonable period of time.

Still a bummer. And of course, my wife, who does not drive a manual and wanted me to spec an automatic is resisting her, "I told you to get an auto and the bigger engine, nobody drives manuals anymore."

Dealer is going to deliver Bronco. Ford is going to replace the transmission with a new one in late January. They have a 30 year experience tech who will do install. Hopefully, the new transmission won’t be a lemon as well

Thanks for this update, makes me feel better that they are replacing your transmission. I have asked for that as my resolution also, but the service manager at my dealer is on vacation and we've not confirmed details yet. Mine was not caught at (or before) deliver, but I first noticed it at around 400 miles, so it was probably noisy at deliver if I new what to look / listen for at that time. In addition to the scraping noise at idle, there is rattling sound as I accelerate thru 3rd gear, so I have no idea how much wear there could be internally.

Did your dealer mention if they have confirmed with FoMoCo that this has been addressed with the transmission vendor? I would hate to just "assume" we'll get a good replacement part at this point.

-I just want to add that just because you get a new transmission, the problem isn’t resolved. I’m currently on my third and have been offered a fourth. I declined the fourth because replacing the transmission does NOT make the real problem go away, unfortunately. Hopefully the TSB that Ford has put out on this issue IS INDEED the real fix. I’m very hopeful but not holding my breath. I picked up my 2021 MT on January 28, 2022. Like many others, I’ve had the issue since the beginning/less than 100 miles. Even with the 2nd and 3rd transmissions, same exact problem from the beginning. I have until the end of July 2023 to file a lemon law. That’s exactly what I intend on doing if this TSB recommendation doesn’t solve the problem. This will be the last attempt for my Bronco, personally. I just wanted to share because I can relate all too well. This issue is very unfortunate and even more frustrating. But again, a new transmission does not solve the problem. If you’re hearing the sound at all in your manual transmission, call your local Ford dealership and mention the TSB. Don’t ignore it. The sound we are all hearing is actually metal from the casing of the transmission shaving off. Therefore, metal in your transmission fluid. Good times 🫠🙃
-Fingers and toes crossed for everyone!!

Called the dealer's service department today, to report the dreaded transmission noise. Gave them the TSB number, they said they would get the parts ordered and get it taken care of. 🤞🤞
