New Alternator and now wiring or a module

Hi Everyone,

Vehicle is in the shop and they are currently giving it a lot of attention. There is a long story to with this but for now just the facts.

If you see a Charging System Fault Code take it seriously. I got one and was told it would reset by a Ford mechanic when I was leaving a dealership getting an oil change and new . He said my voltage is fine he just checked it. I have no problem with that as no one is perfect and we all make mistakes.

Long story short above is me getting towed back to the dealership. They replaced the alternator and now it seems like either wiring or a module. I should get an update by noon. The big J man is looking out for me as this could have happened while in Moab or at King of Hammers or an overnight we are doing soon outside of Tucson.

Can't wait to tell you how my new KO2's D rated ride but for now it is all about the charging.....there is always a story to go with these events.

This is the screen that came up just before the shut down as I was driving. Before that every warning code known to man came up. 4 x 4 fail, driver assist fail, steering fail, service vehicle, lights, camera and so on. When the battery gets to 10.4 volts all all the modules produce codes since they cannot work below this voltage. These codes where all part of the low battery. I boosted the vehicle a couple of times with my battery booster. It got me off the road. Just barely.

First thing I would do is have them check your battery. I had to replace mine about five months ago. If if is the original battery it will probably need to be replaced. If you let your Bronco sit for any kind of extended period (this could be as little as 3-4 days) the battery drains down. These things are always on even when not driving them. If you’re gonna have it sitting for several days, keep it on a trickle charger. What you are describing is exactly what happened to me before it needed to be replaced. And if your living in areas prone to heat the battery life is even shorter. Arizona is notorious for eating batteries.

I bought the car from a 3rd party and the battery is an AGM stamped with manufacture date 8/2023. Not sure when it was installed as the seller did not provide this info. I also don't know where the original owner lived but probably here in southern AZ also. I haven't yet seen the Ford mechanic but AutoZone reader says the battery is "100%". I drive every day, city driving, still getting the warnings "charging system service soon" and "shutting down to save battery". But starts fine, stuff works. I really appreciate all of y'all's ideas and I'd love to hear from @Roughstock11 about which fuse successfully solved the issue. I'm outside warranty and will have to pay cash for diagnosis and fix, hoping to guide the mechanic to the right fix quickly.

You can see the blown fuse on the left by the wires. There are three fuses in total the one on the left is blown. I believe the that fuse unit was about $250.00 if my memory is correct. You have to replace the whole bar. The plastic piece with the three fuses attached. As you can see it is by the main fuse box under the hood.

I hope that helps. Once this was replaced and my winch wired better I have not had any issues.
