Had my 2DR Bronco for a month or so and I just noticed the top is buckling. Kind of like a bubbling in the texture. Is this normal, or part of the hard top issues everyone is experiencing? It's happening on both sides of center. @Ford Motor Company

Update. New 2DR hard top arrived. I'll need to schedule two days for fix since they have to remove side glass panels and back glass gate and install them into the new hard top shell. Plus, they need to remove deadening head liner and also replace on new shell. It'll be interesting to see how the headliner looks after tearing it out of the old shell.

The dealer, Gary Yeoman Ford Daytona, has its moments. In this moment, they're not inspiring confidence in repairing hard top. At first he thought they had to drill out holes to replace, then he remembered it was a hard top not soft top. Nice guy, but ???

If I have to tell the dealer how to repair stuff, well, that's concerning.

Having said that, I'll be saying, "new headliner please"!

If it’s not too late maybe you can buy an aftermarket headliner that is a much better quality and have them install that ,just a thought. Or possibly have the dealership go on half price on the aftermarket part . (Hothead headline)

not a bad idea. Hothead only makes them for Jeeps. I need a cool head for the Bronco.

Im going through the same issue. They shipped the back part of hard top,no windows, no sound deadening. Service adviser said there would be no way to get that off and back on the new top without destroying it. They were going to just put the center panel and two front panels back on. No that's not going to work because the color shade is an issue. So I now waiting on new sound deadening and 3, roof panels.

Mike, I just noticed the exact same bubbles in my 2022 2 door. Do you have the name of the rep you spoke with @fordmotorcompany

Ford at its best. What a joke 🤪. Good luck to you hope it’s not a huge pain to get fixed.

That's what I thought, tough to peel away and replace without some sort of distortion. But hey, what do I know😏. I'm not sure they even ordered all three panels. My dealer service rep is a little aloof, but nice guy. Working with Ford customer service and dealer to figure out next steps.

ANOTHER UPDATE. I originally posted this problem in October and here it is December and I decided to keep the hard top and vinyl wrap it.

The process with Ford and dealer started off quick and easy. The hard top was shipped to dealer within a week and I got a call to bring it in for a swap. When I got to the dealer, my service rep told me they would have to drill and bore holes to remove top??? Then he remembered it was a hard top😮 . But, apparently it would take a week to dismantle glass and arrange to have new glass replaced. I didn't count on that so I told him to re-schedule. My new date for fix - late January 2023. Yikes, they are one busy Ford dealer - must be a ton of Ford vehicles needing service😀 . I got one more text last week giving me an hour or so to bring it down and get a loaner Mustang, but I didn't have time.

In the meantime, I contacted my Ford Customer service person that originally opened warranty claim and requested compensation for top instead of having Ford replace. She countered with covering the cost of renting loaner car or paying one month loan payment while Bronco was in service😖 .

After hearing horror stories of Ford service departments, having to wait 3 months for an appointment, and not getting any satisfaction from Ford Corp. I decided to simply vinyl wrap the hard top to cover the imperfections. The wrap cost $200 and I've asked Ford Customer Service to reimburse, but my contact has since stopped sending me back any emails. Christmas vacation?????

Kudos to Ford for trying, but I decided to keep it simple. The warranty claim is still open, so if the vinyl wrap gets funky if the top worsens, I'll revisit.

Should have found a way to get that in for the swap. Then done the wrap.with how long it takes to get a new part for anything, that could be a problem.Get the loaner.

I came to the conclusion the Bronco has a few high-quality parts, and a few sub-par quality parts. The hard top is definitely low quality, so I thought me wrapping the top would probably produce the same quality results than getting hard top replaced. Either buckling or a few creases, take your pick. I asked to see top (on site) and inspect, but all I got was a picture on service advisor phone.

Fiasco over. Moving on.
