Ford has dropped the ball. Not impressed 100k Bronco Raptor can't be fixed.

Ford can't support the Bronco Raptor. Not good.

My CV axel inner boot has come off and grease is everywhere. We managed to get the boot temporarily on to drive home but that is it.

Two different mechanics looked at it and cannot understand how the boot twisted off. It should stay with the axel and not twist.

The CV axel is on National Back order with NO ETA. What? NO ETA? I would expect more from such a great vehicle.

Bummer, dude. We are all hoping this works out for you... and soon. I can only imagine how frustrating this must be.

The silver lining is that you learned you could drive a very long distance with the boot askew and the grease payload gone. I can see why you wouldn't want to drive anywhere unnecessarily until the whole component can be replaced. Following this. I hope you can source the part quickly!

Thanks dude....I do hope Ford gets there act together soon. It is good to have such a great Bronco community to vent to when need be. Thanks for your support.

Hang in there @Roughstock11, I hope they can get you back up and running ASAP. Now I need to go take a look at Darryl and make sure his boots are still good.

Man, @Roughstock11, that's hard to hear and with the price of the vehicle and how fun Broncos are to drive, really hard to experience, I'm sure. I hope you get a solution quickly.

And just as well, if any has an earlier year trim (or even a '23), you may want to do what @Jakob1972 said and this to your list of things to pay attention to when doing maintenance and before/after.off-roading:

As a temporary fix until the new axle comes in, why doesn't the dealer just pull the axle out, separate and clean out the joint, repack it with grease and put the boot back on, this time with clamps. It looks like an assembly issue at the axle plant that didn't put the clamps on the boot when the axle was assembled. Even on a dirt road I doubt any debris got into the joint and caused damage. The CV joint should last far longer than the time needed to get a new part.

Yes thanks, that sounds like a good solution. I will see next week if they are willing to do that. If not I have a friend who could do it for me and at least get it running for now. We shall see. Thanks

How about they take one off of dealer stock some where and let theirs sit and wait for the part.

Now that would be service!

One you would not do that if it was your business. Stop the sale of a $80K truck to fix a truck that is already purchased. Did this break from miss or over use, etc. We have all been in this situation where the business didn't do as we requested or thought it should. Maybe Santa will have one under the tree for you!!

Yes. I think there are laws, in some states, that prevent dealers from doing this. If you were to purchase a new truck, that had parts removed and then re-installed not sure you would be a happy camper either. WE allowed our mfg. capability to be sold from under us. The issue, IMO, is not to just complain to the auto industry, but to also get on the phone and hold your govt. folks accountable.

I don't think the boot is necessarily damaged and won't hold grease, I think the band clamp came off.

Yes both clamps are off. The larger one is back on. Between having the dealer see if they can clamp the boot since I am seeing them for an alignment (new tie rods) and being able to get another boot if need be I am planning on having a temporary fix this week. Then take it easy and no off roading till the axel comes in.

Thanks, even if they don't cover it one way or another there will be a temporary fix. As per my other post I am seeing the dealer this week and hopefully they can have a go at it. If not, I have a couple different friends who could come up with something for sure. I am feeling better about the situation. Just need Ford to get some parts.

Edit: spoke to dealer and they will fix it up when I see them.
