Charging system fault

Couple of weeks after I got the Bronco home (June 1-2), the battery light came on and I got a charging system fault on FP. Had the local dealer look into it and everything checked out, but kept throwing the code. They had it a week and had Ford engineers give them a few things to test that came up empty. They sent the Bronco home with me while they waited on more ideas from Ford. Two weeks ago I took it back in and they have run multitudes of tests, all coming back ok. They thought they had it figured out with a bad BCM and just finished that instal this morning. Fault code still there! Waiting on more ideas from the engineers next week now. Next Thursday will be 4 weeks it's been in the shop since June.
Not blaming the local guys here in Ames. They seem to have tried everything and now it's on the engineers at Ford. Weird thing is you'd never know there's a problem. Everything runs fine. Battery stays charged. Alt is charging properly. All the electronics work fine.

Anyone else out there had this happen?

You need part # MU5Z-14526-AZA it is on the positive side of battery with 10 amp fuse , it fixed my Bronco.

Hey there. Could you please send over a private message with your VIN and the name/location of the Ford dealer you are working with? I would like to take a closer look at your charging system concerns on my end.

Yup I saw it.now I have to convince the lead mechanic where to start.that usally goes in one ear out the other due to being a customer. He plans on calling the engineers and pulling the alternator to test as he spent a couple hrs. Chasing possible causes grounds ect.

Hi there. This battery fault concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Bronco. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? To send a private message, just click/hover on our username and select "Message". I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.

I purchased a 2024 Bronco a few days ago and this same problem started for me the next morning after purchase. They replaced the battery and they seem to be at a loss as to the root cause now. Has it stayed “fixed” since your last update?

What does Auto S/S have to do with the battery code??
Not sure this is what they're alluding to but, I disconnected the little red device that's attached to the battery when I was told it would turn the auto stop off permanently. Problem is disconnecting that threw a charging system error. I figured it was just meritless warning but wasn't willing to risk it so I reconnected. Perhaps the charging system warning just doesn't like the auto stop being disabled.
