Was on a call with some of the team including @bdawson24 this morning.

Ben's our resident grillmaster at Bronco Basecamps, and I've heard some of you get into quite the discussion with him on the best way to cook meats. It sparked some curiosity: How are we cooking tomorrow? And for our Canadian friends, what did you do last month?

Personally, I just show up 🍗

I'll be the one to break the traditional turkey tomorrow. We are cooking a ham and nothing special about the way we are cooking it. 😬
Ohh...we are having Ham too!

18.5 Lb Turkey already came brined and Rubbed with seasoning.

Generally speaking … right before we put it in the oven, we fill the cavity with cut oranges and apples and other aromatics …. (My wife has a thing about uncooked stuffing…. so we prepare the stuffing/ dressing separately)….
Next we rub the Turkey with an olive oil and butter mixture…. This year ‘m going to try an oven bag to seal in the juices….

I’m also thinking about injecting our bird with a butter mixture which we have done before with success. Super juicy!!!!

Also…. We always let it sit for around an 45 minutes to an hour after it comes out of the oven…..before we carve….

We make gravy from the drippings!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING BRONCO NATION!!!!

I'm just showing up.

BUT, I will also be showing up at the grocery store on Friday to pick up any on-sale turkey... and I will be attempting to grill it.

Not cooking. It's just the three of us so we go out to dinner. No sense of cooking a big meal for two adults and a toddler.

This is what we will be having.

I'm having chicken.
We did a deep fried turkey at work one year, I wasn't impressed, but my boss and two others attacked that bird like they didn't eat in days nothing but bones left after 45 minutes.😆

Turkey wise, I’m in the “just show up” boat. Always bring a good bottle of whisky to share to the table, though.

Enjoy your holiday, All! Cheers

I call that a win!! 🙂 I've recommended this option many times, I get over ruled. 🙄

If yall were closer, you'd be welcome at our table!! Enjoy your dinner, and hopefully a great ride in the Bronco. Happy Thanksgiving!!

Laura, thank you for bringing up this important topic.

I plan to smoke my 22 lb turkey at 275 for around 11 hours or so. I am using cherry wood as my wood of choice and using the Big Green Egg as the method of smoking. I have been doing this for many years and it has always turned out fantastic and a major hit at Thanksgiving (and other special events).

It’s especially great for those who have not tasted real smoked meats. So far, those people have always been amazed.

Keep in mind, it’s not me, it’s the equipment that is being used and the directions that are followed. (Yes, as a guy I do follow the instructions. LOL)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!!
