6 Ways to Prep for Your Labor Day Travel

Can’t believe Labor Day (and the unofficial end of summer!) is here. As many of us head out for a final summer adventure, it’s always smart to prep our Bronco to stay safe on the road. According to AAA, nearly 405,000 drivers needed roadside assistance during last year's Labor Day holiday travel period. Avoid being added to that list this year by checking the items below. (While most of us already know these basic tips, a little reminder never hurts!)
    1. BATTERY — Summer heat can shorten battery life and weaken performance. Have your battery tested if it's more than a few years old or showing signs of trouble, such as slow engine starts.
    2. TIRES — Inspect tires for proper inflation and tread depth. Underinflated or worn tires can increase the risk of a blowout, reduce fuel efficiency and affect vehicle handling. (Don't forget that spare tire!)
    3. BRAKES — watch for warning signs like squealing, grinding or vibrations when braking.
    4. FLUIDS — Check engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid and windshield washer fluid. Proper fluid levels help keep vehicles operating safely and efficiently.
    5. LIGHTS & WIPER BLADES — Confirm that headlights, brake lights and turn signals are functioning properly. Replace worn wiper blades (in front and back!).
    6. EMERGENCY SUPPLIES — Be sure to pack an emergency kit that includes drinking water, a flashlight, phone charging cables, basic first-aid supplies and other items that could prove helpful on or off the trails. Great list of things to help you prepare.

Also if you have had any suspension work done check your mounting bolts.
If you have done a fluid change on the front or rear diffs check your bolts, My rearend was leaking when I went to tighten them up they were not even finger tight, and my diff was about 3/4 empty.
