I was strolling through the Facebook Bronco group "Ford Bronco 2021+ (NOT BRONCO SPORT)", and the subject matter at hand was "Any reasoning given why no more 2.7 in Outer Banks?". Any truth to this? Would this be included as part of the mid year Job 2 changes? Looking for the nitty gritty from a much better source than Facebook!

By funny happenstance, the salesman that sold me my `24 Black Diamond, asked me if I was sure that I was going to pick it up, because it had to be ordered, being a manual transmission. I`m thinking that the Ford Dealer didn`t want to be stuck with a vehicle that would (supposedly) be a hard sell if I backed out of it. I told him not to worry about that, I ordered a Bronco specifically because it could be ordered with the manual transmission. With that being said, they worked with me on discounts (3K) and financing and got me in my Bronco on the same day that it was delivered to the dealership. They never steered me to an automatic, though there was at least ten on the lot. Funny thing is, in the four years that this particular dealership has been selling Broncos, the salesman told me that mine and one other are the only two 7spds that have been sold, both Eruption Green Metallic.

Funny thing is every time I have my Bronco at the dealership there are 2 guys that work there that want to buy it. Ask me every time if I'm interested in selling. These are not salesmen. They work in the service department.

Fear of being "stuck" with it was the reason for them asking for such a big deposit, they told me so, But when it came in the salesman who finally finished the deal ( took months to get it done) said it was a wonderful car and why didn't they get more of them. When I went to pick it up a couple were looking at it and waned to buy it. But one of the brain dead salesmen said "I didn't know they put a 5 speed in that ?how did you get that?"

The first salesman hounded me to buy an automatic and hit me with every false manual claim, like "you'll burn out the clutch in the winter, to you won't know what gear to be in,, to you'll hurt your knees pushing the clutch" every insult in the book.
He never finished the deal, left the dealer and never said anything to me, they are scum.Last I knew he was going to check the pipeline and see if there was one available. There are no decent Ford dealers left in CT.

Damn! Not "I didn`t know they put a 5 speed in that?"! You can`t make this stuff up!

Equating car buying today with what was experienced 40 years ago is perhaps not reliable…
Things have changed significantly in the age of the internet and huge “regional” or even “national” dealerships. There is one in Idaho I’m aware of that has basically taken over a small town, filling every available lot with rows and rows of new Ram trucks, with people flying in from around the country to make their buy…

Damn! Not "when did they put a 5 speed in that"! You can`t make this stuff up!

Car salesmen aren't what they used to be, used to be car guys. Now they hire anyone off the street that knows absolutely nothing about cars.
Same dealer had a bimbo call me about a Mustang, didn't know they put a V-8 in the car and was trying to sell me a convertible when I was looking for a coupe.😡
The salesdude they finally assigned to my purchase was a bar tender 6 weeks before he finalized the deal on my car, my car was the first one he sold.😮

Doubtful… unlike Europe, Americans by and large don’t want manuals…

If Americans clamored for manuals, including manuals with v-6’s, that’s what would be produced and sold…

Companies exist to build and sell what people will buy, not the other way around
Spot on! I have a manual for fun time, but my new daily was going to be an auto because once you factor in horrible traffic and potholes the fun of a manual goes out the window. Only reason I didn't get a Bullitt or GT350. Thankfully the Bronco returned.

Yup! I doubt I'll ever sell it. I've wanted a Bronco since I was a kid. My brother had a gen 1 that was a blast to ride in.
