Jerking issues and sputtering at low speeds

I have the 2024 Heritage Bronco Sport and I’m starting to have jerking issues and sputtering at low speeds? Is this a transmission issue? Battery issue? Alignment? I’ve only got 12,700 miles and I bought it brand new.

I’ve noticed on the Reddit forums others have had same issues. Some had said try driving on Sport mode on the G.O.A.T. Modes. Others have said it could be a bad torque ? Anyone else going through this?

Being pretty deep in the Ford off-road community, I've seen this exact complaint pop up a ton with the Bronco Sports.

You're definitely not crazy, and it's highly unlikely to be a battery or alignment issue. What you're experiencing is a very well-documented quirk with the 8-speed automatic transmission in the Sport . At low speeds, it tends to hunt for gears or awkwardly manage the torque converter, which causes that jerky, sputtering feeling.

The folks on Reddit suggesting 'Sport mode' are spot on for a temporary band-aid . Sport mode changes the transmission shift mapping, holds gears a bit longer, and keeps the RPMs up , which usually smooths out that low-speed lugging.

That being said, since you're only at 12,700 miles, you are well within your factory warranty 🛡️, so I'd highly recommend having the dealer check for any transmission software updates .
