What number Bronco are you on?

The other day, one of my friends shared a picture of our Broncos side by side at a past event.

I'll be honest, I couldn't find my Bronco in the picture --- because I forgot I'm on my second Bronco. Both my Broncos have been 2021 2-door Badlands, this current one just Sasquatch, so pretty much the same, but it got me wondering: How many have you gone through? Especially 6th gen, but let's hear of/see all the years.

Were they big changes or did you stay in the same trim too and refresh the year? Anyone get one as fully the same as you could get?

I changed mainly for the fact that I bought a retired Off-Roadeo unit and everything was kind of flattened underneath (yes, I paid MSRP and yes, it was still worth it), and secondarily for the color. Couldn't be happier!

What about you?

I’m on my second Bronco now. I had my first in the US, and recently bought the second after relocating to Europe. I was surprised to find that here, FoMoCo offers only two trims (Outer Banks and Badlands) with no option to customize through packages or additional equipment—you can only choose the color. Another surprise was that they’re selling only MY24 builds. My "conspiracy" theory is these might be vehicles tied to a serious recall issue (possibly Bilstein oil reservoir corrosion) in the US, and while waiting for repairs at the parking lot in Dearborn, FoMoCo rolled out the MY25 models with all well-known upgrades, leading US dealerships to potentially cancel orders for the recalled MY24 units.

Still, I accepted the Bronco’s limitations and challenges in Europe and set out to customize mine to fit my needs. It’s an expensive, time-consuming project, especially since some parts must meet EU-specific homologation and certification requirements.
  • TPSM chips have to operate on specific EU frequencies.
  • Tire options are limited due to noise restrictions.
  • Bull or safari bars aren’t allowed because of pedestrian-first safety rules.
  • The towing harness needs to be re-wired with a special aftermarket module, as the 13-pin connector is the standard in Europe.
  • Amber lights are prohibited since all lights must be white, with amber reserved exclusively for turn signals.
  • SYNC4 has custom limitations, with many features intentionally blocked, requiring a FORScan workaround.
  • The biggest hassle is software updates, which are usually delayed by 2–3 months as they come from European FoMoCo servers and must be tested and approved by EU authorities before release.
  • The Ford Pass app is another story, offering only basic features like showing the car’s location, oil life, and tire pressure.
  • By the way, all modifications must be approved and recorded in your car profile by the EU certification authority.

El Bandito would be a dream, but a second set of wheels is a lot more realistic on this budget. Still, RTR letting that thing go off-road only would be something to see.

I'm happy with my first and only Bronco. I did "order" a 2024 Race Red Heritage Edition Bronco with a manual transmission. However, I decided to keep my V6 powered Badlands in lieu of the I4 powered HE. The 4 cylinder was noticeably underpowered and I couldn't reconcile the cost "savings" by going with it.

So, it's "Lebowski" or nothing for me... 😍

Drove a 1970 lifted Bronco for awhile in 1981 but traded for a Trans Am that the 5'2" girlfriend, soon to be wife, could get into more easily, lol.
Had a white 1990 OJ edition back in '96 that I only kept for a couple of years. It always seemed underpowered with the 351W and I didn't have the time or will to build it out.

Reserved the 2dr Badlands with 2.7 in July 2020 and Ford finally delivered in May '23. Plan is to keep it until the end but I am always worried about getting into an accident and it getting totaled. Since I do not want a 4dr and they stopped putting the 2.7 in the 2drs, I guess I would have to find a used similar one to replace it with even though I hate buying used. Would consider a Filson if they offered it in a 2dr :(

On work computer so this is not my blue '70 model but it looks very similar.

Not my 1990 but still very similar ;)

My Dad had a 69 2D with a 302 and 3 on the tree that I loved and coveted but it was "sold" to my nephew who destroyed it...that was the first I drove, after that my friend had a late model Bronco we used to get to our adventures like enduro racing and rock climbing. I have since had 3 F150's and now finally a 23 Bronco that I bought recently. So I am on my first personally owned Bronco and loving that amazing vehicle.
