What Made You Choose the Big Bend?

After originally selecting the BD back on 07/15, I placed my order for the BB:
-2 Door
-2.7
-Mid Package
-4.27 axle
-Cactus
-Sandstone
-LED Lights
-Toggle Switches

It took me quite some time to commit. Originally, I just wanted a no frills truck with a manual. With more time to research, I realized that the upgrades on the BD were not necessarily what I wanted or needed as a DD. I initially liked the idea of MGV, but boats have white or light gray vinyl for a reason (hopefully lighter shades will be on offer in the future). I was dead-set on the MT, but no mid package and the smaller engine gave me reservations (again, hoping future models will clear this all up). The BD has the 7th GOAT rock-crawl mode, but to be honest, I'm not getting a new $$ truck anywhere near rocks for a while. Frivolous as it sounds, I like the signature LED lights. I also like the sandstone option as I am really over the ubiquitous charcoal and black interiors LOL. They can't put the 30" tires on this build, so I'll swap out the 32" 255's for 33" Toyo ATIII's or BFG ATKO 33's. I was tempted by the sasquatch, but it's too much $$ for something I will not really use. The Badlands is appealing, but again, it's mostly geared, no pun intended, towards off roading, and that's not where I wanted to put my money. I owned factory Wranglers and a '96 Bronco with a few inches of lift and I never came across anything on truck trails or the desert floor that they couldn't handle, and that's as extreme as I plan to get. ;)

Sounds like you made the right choice for what you want to do with your Bronco. It's hard not to overbuild which I know I am doing. I'm at the point where it is probably going to be my last new car so I am splurging. So are you in your dealers allotment range or will you be getting a MY22?

Both the Dealer and The Bronco Marketing Rep confirmed 2021 delivery for what that is worth.
I definitely hear you on the overbuild. My first new 4x4 was a '94 Wrangler with a price in the high teens. My second 4x4 was an '02 Wrangler in the low twenties. My last 4x4 was a '96 Bronco that was used and dirt cheap.
You're right about one thing: last car. I have a sneaking suspicion that everyone is going to be compelled to go to all EV's very soon. Next, all autonomous. Grab freedom while it's still around!

Deciding on which Bronco to order has been more difficult than deciding to get married years ago. So the machinations began with BB, BD, OBX, and BL.

START===> I always liked the BB because of the cloth seats and wheels, but it ticked me off that I could not get the 4A on the 4WD unless I went Sasquatch. Sasquatch concerns me about potential rode noise, which will be roughly 70-75% of my driving.

NEXT ===> BD & BL have the MGV and I can see that giving you swamp ass in the summer but the other config options are nice.

NEXT ===> OBX has the ugliest wheels I've ever seen but I CAN get the 12" screen and extra sound deadening. Even so, I just can't bring myself to buy those 18" wheels/tires and then spend more $ to replace them.

NEXT===> BL is pushing the budget for things I won't really use but does come with 33" tires which is pretty sweet but then there's that MGV

NEXT===> Drink Heavily.

Back to START, repeat.

Long story short: I ordered BB with Mid package, and Sasquatch but continue to question if that's the right build for me.
You can't reason someone out of a position that they didn't reason themselves into.

I was originally going to do a fully loaded basesquatch.. but then I realized I'm gonna swap the tires and wheels, and I want a 4inch lift. So the SAS is kind of pointless for me. I also decided I'd rather do after market parts for a lot of the accessories.. The only reason I switched to BB is for the heated seats and the signature lights. I have heated seats now and I cant live without them lol

I ordered the exact same configuration as yours except for the sandstone, which I considered. Started out wanting the manual, but also wanted the Mid packages for the advanced technology and heated seats. This will be the only vehicle for both myself and wife, so it needed to be comfortable and easy to drive. The only downfall for me was not being able to order the 4A.

Per Ford they can install heated seats for 600.00. AM says 400.00. For me it's a better option to add later then spend over 2000.00 on a trim upgrade. If Ford can do the "factory " control for the seats I'll have them install. If not then it'll go to a local shop.

I chose the BB because it’s a trim in the middle for me. I got the 2.7, switches and LED lights w/ towing. I’ll be pulling the plug on working in the next few years and I don’t know where I will move to? I might end up living with a bunch of other old people who just drive golf carts around but I doubt it. Part of me wants to just go up into the mountains and live there. With either life, at least I’ll have my Bronco.

Only want and need a basic vehicle. Up here in Canada, only $1500CAD difference between Base and Big Bend. I like the sandstone interior so that’s that.

It doesn't even get very cold where I live, but I'm at that age where there is no antifreeze in the tank. Heated seats are a small miracle.

Having owned a '94 and '02 Wrangler and '96 Bronco, I have to admit, this BB thing is far from a basic 4x4:giggle: from my... long perspective

I almost went with the Base model plus the 2.7 and a hard top. But I didn't want to turn right around and replace the boring wheel/tire combo immediately. Plus, I like the color options on the BB better.

So I got: BB 4dr with towing, mid package, cactus gray and I just added aux switches to my order.

EDIT: I also just added the 4.27 gears and rear locker. I will likely run into scenarios where the locker will come in handy and couldn't pass up $700 with a factory warranty.

If you could get a rear locker on the base I might have gone that route. The Big Bend has just enough stuff and options to make it work for me. I don't want a bunch of electronic doo dads that won't be working in ten years, I keep vehicles for a long time.
I had a Big Bend reserved but had to back out because. So I'm looking at '23 and buy it cash.

Heres the details

The BB seems just about right for what we wanted at the start. Then we had the issues with an overbuild. We went, Rapid Red, Sasquatch, Switches, Tow Package, Heavy duty bumper, Pod lights.

This is the wife's car.....wink, wink! She really wanted Cyber Orange (thank goodness we went and look at that color on a truck because we would have been bummed). She also wanted the brush guard but does not like how it covers the letters. Looks like we lose the fog lights with the HD bumper (if so, another bummer).

I am probably going wait and see what the aftermarket offers for winch bumpers that retain the fog lights.

Without a doubt the Best value ...with lots of cool options like rear locker, and signature LED head and tail lights. Lots of performance and eyeball for the money.

I went with a
2 door
velocity Blue
sandstone interior
2.7L
SASQUATCH
with AUX switches and floor mats
and towing

I went with the big bend maily for the Mid package, as those creature comforts go a long way for the daily driving. and I know I will use the sasquatch, but not need an aftermarket lift with anything larger than 35's. The warranty will be nice to have.

I also made the choice to wait for the aftermarket for the bumper, it was a hard choice to make, as I prefer my vehicles to be as stock as possible. but between wanting to keep the fog lights and knowing RTR and Vaugh are working on a RTR spec bronco kit, was enough to make me wait on it.
