What is MAP?

I know...probably a dumb question but what are forum posters referring to when they say "MAP?"

Also, I currently have a scheduled production week of 7/25/22. Can anyone explain what the following status means, "Dropping into trim on 7/29. National blend 0739?"

It's a great question since we all speak in codes and acronyms! MAP is Michigan Assembly Plant, where Broncos are built.

2021 Carbonized Gray 2-door Sas High package 2.7L/10-speed Badlands with MIC top

A Map? It's a diagrammatic representation of a place drawn on a flat surface.....but that's not important right now.

Thank you. Any idea what "National" or "0579" means?

I don't have the slightest idea what "National" is. But "0579" is probably your blend sequence number.

When your vehicle is running down the assembly line it is assigned a sequence number so it can be tracked through the assembly process.

Makes sense. Thanks for the info.

Gotta love a good acronym. MAP also being where the Ranger is built. Shameless project plug ;)

Ha...nothing wrong with a little shameless plug. Those Rangers are sharp! Love to see MAP kicking out 12k Bronco's per month!

A mildly amusing story about MAP. I ordered my Bronco through the dealership that is directly across the street from MAP. As I was reviewing the itemized cost breakdown with the sales rep we came to the $1,400 delivery fee. While I was asking about the fee, the sales rep noticed me leaning to the side and looking passed him and out the window to stare directly at the MAP. Before I could say anything, he said with a lighthearted chuckle, "before you ask - no, you are not able to go over there and get it yourself to save the delivery fee." Too bad. That $1,400 could have went into some nice add-ons or mods.

That is funny, and sad in some sense. "How about I give you $700 to go over and get it for me?" ;)

I have a cousin in Alaska, and another in Chicago near the Chicago Assembly Plant that currently manufactures the Explorer.

All three of us ordered Ford vehicles this year. And the Chicago cousin ordered an Explorer and has complained continually about the delivery fee—especially after he got bumped to 2022 and the delivery fee went up. My cousin in Alaska always likes to tease him, "I'd like to personally thank you for subsidizing my delivery fee".
