If you notice the 2.7 has a disclaimer for the HP and Torque Rating. Need to run Premium Fuel to achieve the 310hp and 400lb torque. So does that mean it's a run Premium all the time or can you run a lower grade fuel, not get the top performance with no adverse affects to the engine?

I had an eco boost Mustang - I ONLY ran 91 in it (the highest we can get here in CA), but it would and could run on 87 if I wanted... but since it was a performance car, I only ran 91 because I wanted the most possible power (on top of it being modified and tuned). With the Bronco, I'm expecting they'll say it can run on any octane, but you won't get maximum performance out of it on anything less than premium. Considering gas prices are well into the $4 range now, I'd bet that many of us will be running 87. I actually saw a gas station last week that had 91 for $5.11 a gallon.... usually (right now) it's around $4.39/gal though where I live. 87 is as 'cheap' as $4.13
Reservation: 7/20/20 | MY '21 order: 2/1/21 | MY '22 order: 10/22/21 | Blend 8/5, built 8/8, 'built' status 8/27, in my driveway 10/12/22

You can run either according to Ford. With lower octane, the fuel will ignite at a lower temperature, so if that happens your car will sense it and adjust itself so nothing is damaged. The adjustments essentially scale back the engine so it'll have a little lower output is all. If the intake air temp is cold enough, you could have full power with 87. 91/93 octane will run at full power pretty much all the time.

I've always run premium in every vehicle I have ever owned and have never had sludge issues or ect. I live by and believe it makes a difference even though there are people that also say it makes no difference.

As far as carbon build up, sludge, ect is concerned, there is zero additional benefit to premium over regular. They both have the same additives (assuming they are the same brand). The only difference between 87, 89, 91, 93 octane is the amount of pressure/temperature it can withstand before detonating. Running premium in an engine that is designed and tuned for 87 could actually lessen performance, so premium isnt always ideal, so a person should run whatever fuel their engine is designed for.

So if what you are saying is accurate, then the 2.7 would have to be tuned for Premium Fuel and be one of those vehicles that when you open the fuel door it states Premium Fuel Only
