This started and ended great. For a minute I thought he was going to let the little ones drive to the second level because there are stupid people out there. Thankfully for everyone he is not one of them.

Welcome to the club!

I've looked at adding a shelf in the back of the Green Diamond for a while but they're like $300. Needed more storage for our trip to CO in a few weeks. So I put my woodworking tools to use.
The crafty details:
1/2" Baltic birch plywood ripped 11" x 55". 1x3 front and back rails to stiffen the boards, glued and screwed. Cut all the corners off 45* for easy in and out. Added some stick on insulation under the ends and by the rollbars. Added a couple of blocks to tie the shelves together after install. Since there's a gap on each side I wedged toolbox foam cut to 2" on each side. With the back seat up it is locked in. I'm going do some test packing this week to see what works. Maybe make some adjustments. I'll add some D-rings so I can use a cargo net to secure stuff and toolbox shelf liner so my girlfriend's luggage doesn't slide. Thoughts?

I use to get out a lot more before I moved.. Sometimes 4 or 5 times a month. I lived about a 45 minute drive from the Gifford National Forest, which is a rather large and expansive forest.. I could easily get out for a day trip or I could dispersed camp the area for a few days.

Now it's a 4 hour drive to get to the closest off-road area so I have only been going on trips once a month.. 😪

Yeah that's pretty petty.. And no fix it ticket either. I assume it's $50 plus court costs that have to be paid even if you don't fight it in court..

I'd be petty right back and take it to court saying 'Your honor, I do not own a Jeep"..

Yeah, the forest is an hour from me. This time though, we drove to Ellensburg and went from there to Manastash. So it was about 2.5 hours to the trail head. Best trail I've ever got to do that wasn't called the Rubicon.

I've been to the Okanogan National Forest a few times. Beautiful area! The Manastash Ridge offers some amazing views, for sure!

Yeah that's pretty petty.. And no fix it ticket either. I assume it's $50 plus court costs that have to be paid even if you don't fight it in court..

I'd be petty right back and take it to court saying 'Your honor, I do not own a Jeep"..

So If I'm not petty about it .. I would just pay the $50.. and whatever online fees to do so.. So maybe $2 on top of the $50
