Exactly what the title states - putting a thread together where we can come and post little tidbits of anything we have done today, and as we build them to our own tastes.

Laziness gets you nowhere, believe me because I know. Flag mount needed to be drilled out. Take it off and do it right? Nah. Drill baby drill. Had to hide the gouges with my cool guy sticker. RLTW! 1/75

A catch up post here to get up to date. Installed the Trail Rax rooftop rack, purchased from BN StorešŸ™‚. Love that the tops come off still! Installed a couple fire extinguishers because two is better, right? An H3R mount holding a 2.5lb ABC on the back pillar and an Element 50 setup under the front seat. Then a Broaddict Two Level Tailgate Table. This one took some shimming as it was not made square to the world, but works great and not a rattle except for going over the worst washboards. This Twisted shifterz knob was on my Christmas list, but it took me some time to get the semi-matching orange numbers painted!
If anyone else is silly enough to try this... In the beginning I thought I could actually use small swabs to fill in the engraved numbers. In the end, I just dabbed paint over that whole area, and when it was just about dry, buffed it off with a MF towel (twice). So far it's holding up, but I may treat the whole thing with some Adams Graphene...

Okay I hope I can do this on my phone. I’ve had my 4 door outer banks for a few years now, time to bling her up.

Driving back to CA from Texas where we got this amazing hard top!

It is a HUGE improvement from the original soft top! I love it! Can’t wait to get it home from the long drive.

And the Armadillo Designs dudes are SO amazing! Totally worth the wait.

Wheels/tires/lift next up! Wanted it to be ā€œnot so newā€ before adding to it. (I will def be able to find my Bronco in a parking lot…lol)

IAG heavy duty winch mount
Badlands 12k syn rope winch - controlled by Aux 6 via a 500 amp relay
Zroadz 4x white 2x amber fogs - whites to Aux 4; ambers to Aux 5

Customer service at IAG was super-helpful. Also pretty cool that that shop is 45 min from me.

Zroadz lights were a common-sense install. Customer service from those guys was cool as well. I emailed them with a few questions. They emailed back…even called and left a follow-up voicemail to confirm everything was working . Brightness is on point.

Overall…very happy with the outcome.

This is the relay I used…got it on Amazon: https://a.co/d/60b63S2

I had to trim one side of the mounting bracket so that it would attach to an existing mounting bracket on my battery. Once I got it mounted though…it was pretty straight-forward. Here’s how I wired it. And a couple extra pics. I got some help from a dude I met on a Bronco forum on FB. Very straightforward install.

1 - Red (hot) wire coming from the winch
2 - Trigger wire - runs to the Aux 6 wire (yellow w/orange stripe)
3 - Ground wire - runs to existing ground lug on the frame
4 - Red (hot) wire runs from positive (red) battery terminal to relay - for this wire, I simply reused one of the wires that came with the winch - intended to be used to relocate the control box.

Massive, and I mean massive, install today! /s

Installed a cheap passenger side center console molle panel. I moved my mic extension cable to it so I can have a bit more motion and movement from the mic. I also mounted my small flashlight to it and can slap my handheld GMRS radio to it...

It was $30 and it took all of 5 minutes to install... It appears to be sturdy and it installed without issue as everything lined up. No drilling required as it uses existing mounting points. I don't think it has a brand name so I'll just call it my cheap Chinese molle panel.

Nice. I'm going to look into this high-end piece of equipment! :-)

Different question for you. Regarding your mic extension cable - and FYI...I'm just now starting to explore the world of GMRS radios - is there anything special about it? I saw on Midlands website that they offer a 3m (I think?) mic extension cable for $20 or so. Will any RJ cable work. Like...can I just go to Lowe's or Home Depot and buy a flat RJ cable with a male on one end, female on the other and use it to extend the mic? Thanks in advance!

Yes, I believe you can use any RJ45 extension cable. Just make sure it's a Cat 5 or a Cat 6..

If I may, I found this on Amazon and it works great. It's a super cheap solution to the cable length problem.
Cable Extension
Coupler
I installed the coupler in my console, ran the cable from the radio in the glove box to the back of the coupler, and then plugged the mic wire into the coupler when I needed to use the radio. When I'm not using the radio, I hide the handset in the console. It works like a dream. The installation was easy and it looks like a factory option. šŸ˜‰

Chris here. I drive a 2-door Velocity Blue 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch, Lux, a 2.7L V6, and an automatic transmission. It’s fun.

Installed DV8 license plate relocate bracket. Getting set up for winch plate install.
BTW.. Dealer installed license plate bracket was screwed directly into my grill work. Any suggestions? Thinking of drilling out for plastic push lock retaining clips as opposed to trying to repair.

Nice! Are you doing the performance tune with it or just the Pro-Cal 4?

I’m doing the performance tune. But it’s not working. We food the steering rack first and everything went fine. Then they went to do the performance tune, and it errored out. They called Ford, and were told it’s a known issue and engineering is working on it. So, I picked it up and did a shakedown run today. It was great! Very rutted out trail, and the increased articulation was great! IMG_6924.jpegIMG_6923.jpegIMG_6922.jpeg

Have not quite finished the winch but got a chance to get the Bronco up on a flex trailer... Metal Cloak was in town so....487871310_10235190416685858_7099380060767032329_n.jpg

Only scored a 540 but that was with 38 PSI in the tires... wanted a baseline. I think I could have scored over 600 if I had aired down to single digits. The modded Jeeps were in the 800 to 850 range and the suspension shop owner got his jeep to a 1030 by completely disconnecting his shocks LOL. Still think it was decent for an IFS... which I would choose over those solid axles 99 times out of 100.
