Exactly what the title states - putting a thread together where we can come and post little tidbits of anything we have done today, and as we build them to our own tastes.

Sometimes it's the little things.

I removed the mudflaps I got from 21OFFROAD, which are the same as IAG, Mabett, and others. The RR was destroyed by road debris and the LR was cracked. They looked good and worked great, but probably won't hold up to abuse. I left the brackets in place in case I come up with a flexible solution. I've got an experiment in mind.

I then installed the IAG flaps that mount in the caps of the rock rails. It's a great solution, but the screws were a bit of a challenge.

Then I added the Bulletpoint dash mount. I'm real impressed with it. It's a great idea even if you just add your own mounts instead of the ball mounts. Highly recommend. 1000006406.jpg1000006401.jpg1000006412.jpg1000006411.jpg1000006404.jpg

Hopefully you didn't do this with your Bronco. Shouldn't they have picked a "less attractive model"?

Update:
Replacement cable arrived today. Maybe 15minutes to complete the Midland radio install - All good!

Oh, am proud owner of new Klein's pointy wire cutters too. They work great!

Cheers

Original post:
Brain flatulance struck today !!##??..

Yeah, finally gathered all the parts to install our Midland radio. Gotta admit working with electrical components in dark, tight places isn't my fav, but this little MXT275 radio seemed easy enough for even this knuckle-dragger.

Diamond's K400SNMO antenna mount makes for a very clean antenna install (Midland's MXTA25).

Bronco's handy rubber firewall grommet enables an easy cable run into the cab and across to passenger side, inside dash, above glovebox radio location.

Thank You Ford - For an easy power hook up using their white pass-thru wire and Aux 5 ignition hot power line. Then nstalled radio above glovebox using Mountain2Metal's mount, and a 1L ethernet extension cable for the mike.

Almost done, everything looked good, except the bird's nest of wires hanging behind the radio. So, thought I'd cleanup that mess by re-doing some plastic zip ties, had only a single zip tie to cut.

That's when ham-hands struck - I cut both the zip tie and the mike's ethernet extension cable !!##!!..

I know, am using the wrong type wire cutter for this 'precision' job, and it cost another $10 cable and couple days to complete the radio install.

Cheers

Been there, done that.
$10 is a pain but pretty inexpensive fix!

I had the 21OFFROAD mudflaps (same as IAG and Mabett and several others), road debris destroyed the rr, lr was cracked. I took everything off and decided to experiment making my own. I ordered some truck poly-rubber flaps, cut them in half, got the dimensions where I wanted, then used the old mudflap mounts. What do you think?1000006431.jpg1000006449.jpg1000006453.jpg1000006451.jpg

Added a rhino rack to my factory rack.
Made some brackets to attach the traction boards.
Tried to install broncbuster shock bash protector and no way did the holes line up. Watched their video and, nope, not happening.

Did a snow run... Unfortunately spring in Idaho often sees snow melt create rivers under the snow and Ice.
Looked like a solid road with 10 to 14 inches of snow on it but.... Break through the ice and...
a Break through.jpg

The front shot of Mitchells break through.jpg

We got him out with out any damage....

But the hole... this is filled with water as the ice was backing the flow up... That hole was a good 36 to 40 inches deep. after the water pushed through you could stand in it and it was just above the waist.
The resulting Hole.jpg

and yes he was pointing out that he was number one! And he is! Hell of a good dude!

Mitchell has a break through.jpg

Fun Day though.
