Very well done video reviewing Ford’s 2.7L eco-boost engine. Very informative detail review and comparison of engines. If your Bronco has the 2.7L engine, you’ll appreciate this informative video.

The video I watched made no correlation between the belt condition and the bearing failures; it was the mechanic's observation from his concern of an oil bath rubber belt running the oil pump. He did mention Ford recommends a specific oil type use regime to prevent belt degradation. The video came to no conclusion as to why the bearings were oil starved, just that the bearings were damaged from oil starvation.

I was surprised to see the belt in such a degraded state at 96,000 miles. Hopefully the belt in the video was an anomaly.
I stumbled upon this. I don’t really want to debate “Chicken or the Egg”…😃

The 2.7L is more reliable / less problematic than the 3.5L but there has been a slew of broncos where guess theres compromised valves...Theyre breaking / dropping valves & grenading engines....Ive dealt with 2.7 phaser noise a handful of times, Ive replaced a few handfuls of 2.7L engines, I prefer to work on them over the 3.5L when it comes to engine swaps, but taking the timing cover off a 2.7L is a nightmare....guys on here have boners over all this horsepower / performance BS, & thats all anyone cares about....A simple serp belt replacement will cost 3x as much to replace compared to a n/a engine....Nothing is simple anymore on these things & end result is more out of pocket expense for the consumer for repairs.Nothing is simple anymore when it comes to these turbo engines & everything is crammed in there. You guys are all about towing these heavy loads, wrecking the exhaust manifolds....direct high pressure fuel injectors are a nightmare to deal with, compared to previous regular injection.2 turbo coolant tubes, 2 turbo oil tubes, couple handful of turbo air tubes & CAC tubes......just a cluster fk....It is what it is, at this point dont think theyre going back & eliminating turbos, like they did in the 90'sWish they would though!!!!!Less is more....Been out of the game since Aug 22 / retired so I shouldnt care, but I do as im still a consumer.....

Well put. The truth and facts are not bashing.I would like nothing more than to see the day when Ford produces a vehicle without a long list of recall items.
