The Bronco is NOT a car...

I love bronco folks. They are some of the greatest people to share a common interests with...usually, most are as interested in our vehicles as I am. BUT, there is one thing I see here often that drives me crazy (it's a short trip too!)...people calling the bronco a "car". Let's discuss this ever impeding cataclysmic burning question!

I really liked driving the 1/4 tons, but I hated the wipers. Once we got the Hummers things were a lot better.
The vacuum wipers were great.😆 If you needed more speed, you shut off the passenger side 😆

Interesting…. I owned a ‘70 Bronco here in Washington and had to pay “tonnage” on it, which means the state viewed it as a truck…. Of course the term SUV hadn’t been coined yet…

Just checked the registration on my ‘23 OBX and there is no tonnage, and the type of vehicle listed is an SUV..

Car, truck, carriage, rig…. The only person who cares is the one behind the wheel…
And the man…collecting taxes

When I was a kid, my Dad had a Buick station wagon. We would head up to the family house in Maine on Friday for the weekends in the Summer. Our German Shepherd would be in the way back and I would go with him and he would let me put my head on his back and we would both go to sleep. He was a great dog. If they let me do that today, I would have been in foster home!😆

One time the wipers completely stopped. Remember, they had the little levers inside that you could manually move? We were driving through a monsoon. I took off my boot laces and attached them to the levers to move both wipers. It was like playing a video game!😆

Typical male wanting to hear anything that resembles, "my, what a well hung horse you have there".

Female Bronco owners be like, "hey I bought a new car".

I agree. They don't understand. This is the first vehicle since my Supras and my bike, that I've been excited about. While waiting for it, my wife kept asking why I just didn't by something off the lot? Because, the last few vehicles we bought were because we had young kids. Now, we got them their own cars. So, now I think we can indulge and get something we really like. I had to suck it up with a Subaru and a Mitsubishi since 2005. My bike was my only salvation until I got the Bronco. I am now in a good place. I just have to decide on taking the bike or the Bronco. C8 or the new Supra is still on my mind, though! 😆

Buying off the lot is like buying a suit off the rack. Close but no cigar.

Whether we call our Broncos a “car” or a “truck”, the one thing I realized, and am happy to see recently, are how many Broncos are on the road now. When I first got mine in February ‘22, at least a week or two would go by before I would see another one on the road. Now, I see at least three a day. Bronco Nation is really taking over and am proud to be a part of it!

Still not that many where I am.Since they were introduced I've seen 5 on the road, the rest were at the dealer, some were there for weeks.
It would be interesting to see numbers on states.

I love when people say, "I can't believe you drove a car up that"! It feels like a bigger accomplishment than driving a truck or a rig, especially when my Bronco Sport "car" is sitting next to said "truck". 😜

Asked about numbers by state from my sales guy…. He didn’t know where that could be found… Surely something Ford tracks even if they don’t share it with dealers…

I often call it a 'truck' - every now and then I'll refer to it as 'the bronco', but never a 'car' though. I know some people get wound up over calling it a 'truck' and not an 'suv', but 'suv' doesn't roll off the tongue as well... and as far as I'm concerned, it is a truck.
i just call mine the donkey
