Spotted a Unicorn! 2023 KOH Edition Bronco

Love my Bronco!

Jan 16, 2024

I had to run to the dealer for a part for my daughter's 2018 Ford Focus. I spotted a Bronco that had a ton of aftermarket parts sitting in the front corner of the dealer lot. I knew what I was seeing wasn't something that Ford sold stock or through Ford Performance parts, but it was odd to be parked up front with all the other new vehicles. After a few minutes at the parts department I strolled over to getter a better look, and lo and behold it was a 2023 King of the Hammers edition Bronco that was announced at last year's KOH. I didn't think I would ever see one of these!

The upgrades, vinyl graphics, and badges were awesome. This bronco had a terrific stance. They started with a Wildtrak and added a 4" lift, 37" tires, new front and rear steal bumpers, custom lights, a winch, and carbon fiber flares. Interior was baller.

And so was the price. Asking $126,000 for this. To me, that's flat out unreasonable when a Bronco Raptor is $91K.

Whoa - I didn’t know they were actually gonna build the KOH as a production Bronco. I need to inquire with my dealer tomorrow and see what availability is like…

@TechnicalDisaster - I assume this was a 2024 model, right? Did you get to peep the window sticker or just the $126k price tag?

It was a 2023. I linked directly to the dealer listing, if you want to give them a call. The window sticker for the original Wildtrak is also in the link. If you scroll through the dealer images, they have a list of all the KOH additions.

  • Any one else notice how huge that 37” spare looks on the back of the Bronco? Holly Molly! It’s nearly as tall as the top of the Bronco. Not much of a view in the rear view mirror! 👀

Thank you @TechnicalDisaster

So after some quick research, the KOH a build is a completely separate aftermarket outfit that will either provide a turnkey KOH Bronco or build up your existing Bronco with their parts.

It’s similar to when the 2019 Bullitt Mustang came out. You could send yours to Steeda and have a Steve McQueen Bullitt Mustang built. Made a great car spectacular.

Looks like they have one about an hour from me. Maybe they are hoping someone comes down from Chicago to buy it.

That's up to the dealer 😁

Knowing this dealer, the salesperson would need to check with their manager and get back to you, that is after they ran out back for a smoke, bite of lunch, had a couple of laughs with the receptionist, and service department, and then remember that you are waiting, only to tell you--No, Xplan is not available for this Bronco. (can you guess this isn't my favorite dealer?)

Is this a factory option? Or just a build the dealer put together?
I would think if Ford was going to do a real KOH, they would pick the Badlands as opposed to the Wildtrak, to take advantage of the rockcrawl and front link disconnect. This just seems like a dealer optioned bronco, which is cool, but not anything any different than anyone can do. Not worth the extra $60k.

Yeah, that is really strange. There must be some difference due to options. The 2 lowest priced ones are at the same dealership and yet $3K difference in price.

I bought my Jeep from this dealer and the experience wasn’t bad at all. Their parts department seems to be well run and they always have what I need.

The Chevy Dealership down the street though? They are the poster child for everything wrong with stealerships in the finance office. I can’t believe they stay in business.

I am sure there are a few option differences, but 43,000??? 30,000 gets me a 74 weld steering rack and portals on top of the lower priced KOH.....

When we were talking to FOX back at KOH, they mentioned the KOH Edition package could be installed on any Bronco trim (some would need lockers, etc). Price difference may come from that.

Ha haa - Luv your ideas! I've been looking at 74Weld's steering & portals too. Not sure when of even if we'll do 'high-dollar' Bronco upgrades, but these are on top of my list. Looking forward to your updates!
