I’ve seen allot of threads talking about gas mileage, A.S.S., this and that. Seen threads talking about how peppy the 2.3 and/or the 2.7 is. Haven’t heard allot of talk about sport mode other than adding it via FORSCAN.

I’m impressed with it. Sport mode really makes it quick if you feed it some pedal, tightens the steering etc.

One thing I noticed and I’m sure it’s in the manual but it only goes up to 8th gear, which I assume is to keep the rpm’s up and keep it responsive. Just the same I’m impressed with the sport mode. Enjoy!

I recently enabled it on my 2.7 Badsquatch - and yeah, it makes a big difference!! I wish there was a bit more of a 'launch' from a dead stop, .. once it gets moving is when you feel the power, but that initial launch is kinda sad

Adding the sprint booster helps with the lag from a dead stop.

I find the A.S.S. engages fast enough: moving my foot from brake to accelerartor, and the motor is on an ready for RPM. In earlier posts, I was skeptical about starter (and system) longevity with A.S.S., but now I'm persuaded it should last a long while.
I keep my BadSquatch in Eco for the most part, and am getting only 15.5-17 mph, even with premium. What kind of mileage are you getting in Sport mode?

Fantastic, thanks!
Interesting that "Sport" isn't programmed into Badlands and First Edition. Anybody have any insight about why? I find I have plenty of pickup in "Normal" (even in "Eco") when I need it. Maybe the Badlands and First Edition are tuned to be a bit frisky in "Normal." (Not speaking from knowledge--just my guess.)

I don't know for sure. BUT... it's probably an artificial limit to give each trim a greater distinction from each other. Fundamentally Bronco only has four variants, yet somehow Ford figured out a way to create 6-7 trims out of those four variants. If everyone got the same modes the trims would lose their "unique feel".

BUT, regardless... obviously the limitation was not a technical limitation.

I think putting it in Baja mode and manually putting it into 2H, will get you sport mode. The Raptor folks have had to do this for years.
And @BostonBadlands I get 17mph in my 2.3l Everglades at least the 400 miles I have put on it.

I don’t think so I think the gear changes are very different. I tried Baja mode out on the beach, also tried Sand mode. Didn’t care for either with the high RPM’s they were running at 5-15 mph. I went to normal mode and put it in 4H, ran much smoother. If you want Sand mode you can leave in normal select 4H and lock rear diff. Smoother ride than actually selecting Sand mode. Just my opinion.

Yes, no sport mode in Badlands. You can forscan it in but we haven't on ours. Others who have done it say it makes a little difference but not enough for us to forscan it in. We leave our 2.3 MT in Normal mode all the time with traction control off. Not much difference in Normal vs Eco mode. As for the other goat modes, we prefer not using them and if ever needed just manual adjust via 2wd/4w HI/4 Auto/4 Lo AND hero buttons.

Baja mode IMO should have been calibrated differently, basically should just shut down traction and stability control then call it a day in 2wd (free flowing with maybe the option for 4WD Auto/Awd).

If any of you haven't purchased a sprint booster for your bronco or bronco sport yet...link below to buy one from us for less than anywhere else. I sincerely can't stress enough how much sprint booster wakes up both 4 & 6 cylinder turbo charged engines (Manual & Automatic) without adding any additional horsepower. Holiday pricing is also currently in effect.

Is MT==manual transmission? If so, I've wonder how effective/useful GOAT modes are in manual versions of the Bronco. Other than providing mechanical presets, I understand GOAT modes adjust throttle response, shift points, and maybe other things?

With a manual transmission, you're controlling the shift points, so I've been curious about how GOAT modes play into the manual drive experience. I too thought that if I had a manual, I would probably manually select the drive configuration I needed.

It changes the throttle response, steering, how fast the turbo spins up, etc. etc. Basically everything except the shift points of the transmission.

You can tell a difference for sure. BUT... having driven an automatic transmission Bronco I can tell you the most impactful change the GOAT modes make is how the transmission behaves. Which means the GOAT modes feel much less impactful with the manual than they do with an automatic.

Except the shift points? In baja mode, I don't think we shift out of 1st until around 3k RPMs.

Thanks for that feedback about GOAT and manual/automatics.

Howdy, I have been following the threads with info/videos of the SBV3 with great interest. One thing I have not seen is detailed instructions on how the LED controller is installed; in some of the pictures it appears to be wired and if so, I'm assuming the wire is to the device installed at the pedal--true? Also, is the LED head unit held in place with a peel n stick tape? Many thanks.

Howdy back @ Wildbilt!!

I also believe we're still well within this threads lane @radar3d. Plus NT Automotive is an authorized Sprint Booster Dealer so we are more than happy & qualified to help.

Thanks for your questions@ Wildbilt. Here are the answers:

1. Yes the LED controller is wired into the sprint booster harness that plugs into your gas pedal assembly. It's not a wireless connection like the Pedal Commander competitor. However, the LED controller is smaller, easier to control on the fly vs an app on your phone that can fail, and the LED controller has 2 additional features built into the device beyond the throttle controller which are (1) Digital Pedal Lock security system (2) Valet Park Mode which is rarely used but it limits a valet driver or dealer porter from ripping around in your vehicle when you aren't around. Pretty cool stuff.

2. Yes, the LED controller is held in place with peel/stick adhesive. We also suggest first cleaning/prepping the surface you install the LED controller on with an alcohol wipe for longer lasting adhesion. I've had the LED controller installed on our Honda Accord 2.0T dash since January 2018--and its still holding strong today.

We also provide a complete list of tips, pics, video etc. with your tracking confirmation email to help guide you through the DIY install process (which is super easy).

If you have any other questions just let us know. I've also included our sprint booster thread & purchase link below if interested in buying one for your rig cheaper than anywhere else, whether its for a bronco or any other gas powered vehicle built after 2005.

Have a great day!! 👩
