so as most of you have reserved/purchased a new bronco without a physical vehicle to help in discission making. i too have done the same, but i also have traveled to other dealers trying to find the combination that i had ordered, hoping to drive a vehicle and physically see what i'm getting as well as trying to obtain as much information as i can get. some good some bad but always knowing that much truth to these questions cannot be answered due to lack of communication between dealer and manufacturer. so i hold no dealer in fault.
i have had positive results from many dealers as far as welcoming me to their dealer and allowing me to test drive their broncos. but still have not found the exact match (4door soft top 2.7 base sasquatch mod bump aux switch and now carbonized gray from amb) i know the exact match is difficult but similar drive experience would be helpful. i driven sasquatch, i driven 4doors, i driven hard tops, i driven soft tops. i driven 2.3, i driven 2.7, but i have not been able to drive a 4 door soft 2.7 sasquatch. but low and behold ron tirapelli ford had the closet thing i could find. COOL i thought now i can realistically see what i will own.
(names have been changed to protect the innocent)
so i entered the dealer after spending plenty of time walking around and checking out the bronco outside the showroom, yes of course no salesperson bothered to greet me or offer to answer questions or such.
Mr. Patel approached me, once i entered the dealership i informed him as i have always done with dealers by starting out informing him i have a bronco reserved and was interested in driving their mannequin model.
Now lets stop here and think about this for a moment. as a dealer if a customer stepped into my workplace its for a reason, what the reason we don't now. customer not happy with allotted dealer given by ford ? looking to replace dealer ? looking to switch order or even start all over due to new restraints or even just changing mind ? this is all unclear to mr. Patel at this point, oh not to mention the interest the customer may have to upgrading his/her vehicle in the future and regular maintenance with a dealer that may be more convenient ???
So the first words out of mr patel mouth was i need to go to the dealer i reserved my vehicle with to test drive. wait wait wait is this not a mannequin vehicle for people to drive.
well ron tirapelli , thanks to your employee mr patel i have no interest in stepping into your dealership again, you could have my vehicle in stock with below msrp or the aftermarket goods at discount.
so sad to see this type of behavior from a dealer who has the potential to go all in on the bronco thing and reap the benefits in the long run.
all the consumers that have invested time and effort into this adventure have been waiting long enough and im sure are frustrated at this point. so hey fellow bronconaires don't bother to use ron tirapeeli unless you want more kaos or drama.
