Getting ready to take a flat head screwdriver to pry out all the rocks in the treads of the tires in the new WildTrak.
Does anyone have a better suggestion for getting all the rocks out of the treads?

When I exit the trail I closely inspect my tire sidewall and tread for cuts/gashes before I start home. I've changed 2 tires with gashes on past vehicles after wheeling to avoid tire failure on the highway. I carry a small 90° angled screw driver to remove pebbles, rock chips from tread. I have the Badlands with BFG K02 and my these are rock collectors. I'm usually 100 mi. from home and having tire trouble really sucks.

That tool could help get the food between my teeth. Where did you get it?

LOL - Go FAST, turn frequently!! Yeah, known issue with GY Territories, as well as several other AT tire tread designs.

Cheers

I was going to suggest the same. I have a Wildtrak 2 door. My solution was Rokblokz (quick release mud flaps). It doesn't remove rocks but keeps them off my paint and other people's windshields.

I can't believe someone made a post about this. Seriously. If this is a real complaint then you shouldn't have a Bronco.

It didn't come across as a complaint. Someone was just asking about a tool to help get rocks out of the GY Wranglers.
If you're triggered by questions from fellow Bronco drivers, who may be new to off-roading etc, maybe just move on to a post you think is worthy of your awesomeness...instead of insulting them.

Okay I get it with the tires! Yes it’s true, I’m new to off roading. I have the hoop steps ordered and Gatorback mud flaps. Now does it make any sense in helping protect the quarter panel etc… to add a rock rail or will those mud flaps and hoop steps take care of flying rocks. I can get a deal on the installation of rock rail.

I have the gaterbacks on the front of my Badlands SAS and they solved 90% of the rock flinging issues. I built my own side step that are welded to the factory sliders and that fixed the rest.

First of all there is absolutely nothing wrong with you asking the question about the rocks and tires.
Everybody has been new to offroading at some point in there life. It simply seems people are quick to forget and pass judgment.

The factory tires pick up small and medium size stones. It is common courtesy to get those out before you damage another vehicle, either by picking them out or spinning them out. Almost all all terain or mud terain are going to pick up stones.
To answer your second question.
Yes rock rails will help out a little bit. I constantly here mine getting pinged by rocks. That is not what they are really made for though.
Another thing if you have the doors and top off do be aware stones may enter the cabin.

No one is passing judgement, just having a little fun. Laughing is an awesome relief from daily stressors. I understand that colts questions are serious and there has been many serious answers. Pick thtu them and use what works for you and remember to laugh. Oh yeah, and laugh. Snowflakes need not apply! 🤣

But this isn't a Bronco issue, this is a tire issue. Put the same tires on a Jeep and the problem goes away?? I don't think so!!

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm? Yes, this def is a Bronco issue because it is happening on many Broncos?
