I know there are many threads. My primary use will be a GoPro. Will not have a phone on it. I'm looking for those that have purchased one and your pros and cons using it. I see some of them have more slots, like a molly rack, instead of a true picatinny rail. Also want one that I can install using the mount on the dash, not have to take the dash apart. Biggest question would you buy it again. Please list the mfg.
Beautiful, but $350??? Not for me, given the limited use it will get…
It is indeed an expensive buy, but the old saying certainly applies, "you get what you pay for". I do use mine regularly to hold my radar detector and my phone. Whether I am 4x'ing or on pavement, these items stay where I place them.

With my Bronco, I spare no expense. After waiting 14 months for this puppy to arrive, I see every investment as a guaranteed return on investment. I also don't want to add any cheap crap to my expensive ride. LOL

I think most of us do not use them regularly and are looking for phone holder, and occasionally a GoPro holder, or a dash cam… In terms of “get what you pay for” that is true to a point, but mere mortals may not be able to swing them…
Would I like AR everything? Sure. I just can’t see the bang for the buck once you get over the “brand”
Until I get more devices, my BYOD rail literally means "Bring Your ONE Device." 😜
For the moment, I only need to mount my GoPro. The factory hookup, along with an accessory mount, does the trick.
This is my minimalist approach. I'm leaning towards the AR SLAP Rail or the AR TAP Rail. It will be a while before I need their AR BAM Rail. In case you hadn't noticed, I'm a huge Archetype Racing fan. Until I pull the trigger, my minimalist mount will have to do.
Thanks again for the good idea. Able to mount my camera for 61¢. I found a new case that allows you to run power while the camera is in the case. That was on Amazon, made by Sametop. It was a whopping $13.

I've got an early AR with half picatinny, and half smooth. I love it.
Good , it should work out well for you .
I forgot to mention that the only thing I had to do was cut a pc of mounting tape to match and place on top of what was already on the bottom of the end pcs. My rail barely wanted to touch the dash at the end and it needed some better quality tape to stick well. I probably could have tweaked the rail slightly and made it touch better but I had the good tape handy and went that route.
I always keep some of this 3M grey tape with red liner around for the tough jobs. It is far stronger than the black tape most companies put on their products and what you will find at Home Depot etc.

Thank you for all of your information! Greatly appreciated!

The cool factor is amazing, for sure.
I do understand what you are saying. I am well aware of budgeting, especially when it comes to our Bronco's. So much that I want, but have to balance that with my needs.
Enjoy your truck and my it bring you much enjoyment!
This is one that says it can NOT work with the Lux Package - B&O package.
I get that there is a speaker in the dashboard for the Lux Package, but the size seems to fit in the hole that would be "cup" if not the B&O package. Why won't this fit?
We rented a Bronco (turo) this last week that did not have the Lux Package....the size, thus rail , seemed the same???

This video has one being installed on a bronco with Lux package ..no problem whatsoever

I have the same mount although sold by another vendor. I didn't notice the stipulation that it wouldn't fit a LUX Bronco. Sure enough, it will not fit properly without modification. There is a slight difference in dashes although tough to see if they aren't side by side. That hump that the arrow is pointing to is a little different than the non-Lux Broncos. So the leg is made differently to fit that location. I ended up taking a Dremel to the leg to make it fit. Now it fits great.
Sorry for all the Moab dust. I still haven't had the chance to clean everything up. 😆

Ahhh…nice job on doing the mod. Yours Seems to be a shorter version of the rail ..where the other goes over the hump

This is the BYODR I ended up with as well. It’s a sturdy and attractive piece. I’m looking forward to installing it once I get my Bronco back. For the record, it’s an “Ark-eh-tipe Racing” item made in nearby Silverdale, Washington. Mine is a smooth grey one with Badlands orange ends and center piece. Nice video, btw. Liked and subscribed. 😉
