Shortly thereafter. One of them flew off the Bronco on my way home from the dealer. The good news is that three of them stayed on. (Four if you count the spare.)

What the heck! Why did that happen?

The technician at the dealership failed to torque the lug nuts to spec. The wheel flew off at around 30 MPH, crossed three lanes of traffic and came to a rest on the other side of the road. Miraculously, no one got hurt. Those wheels and tires are heavy!

Terrible to see, but what did the dealership do/offer to make this up to you?
Surly, on a $40K rig, “Sorry about that” seems like an inexcusable dealer reply..?

Yeah, $58K. It took a while to get everything ship-shape. I was laid up for roughly two months, but in that time they lent me a Ford Mustang MachE. It was kinda cool (for an electric car). 😜

They had to order a replacement wheel and tire for the one I lost because it got chewed up by the studs as it worked its way off the hub. The wheel also dislodged and damaged the fender flare during its departure. Fortunately for me, I had DV8 skid plates on the rear shocks, trailing arms, and differential. Only the left shock skid came into contact with the pavement, and it protected all of the vital components. So, these puppies are good for off-road driving and then some!

In the end, the dealer replaced the wheel, tire, flare, brake caliper, studs, dust shield, both rear shock skids and both trailing arm skids. Needless to say, I keep a torque wrench handy nowadays (@100 ft lbs). You can't be too safe!

What the heck! Why did that happen?
not a bronco but my f350 lost one at 70mph on the freeway on my trip across the country last november. what a blessing that I didnt lose it. fords seem to have a problem that when you replace your tire or take the rims off you have to re torque them after about 50 to 75 miles or the lugs back off.

Last weekend's camping trip in Utah.









Iconic Silver is a super rare color. Probably the rarest. And an Iconic Silver BRaptor, the rarest of the rarest. I have never seen a BRaptor in that color. That being said I love the white with the graphics package!
