Why pay it forward?

Today I received and replaced the Bronco Nation Grille Badge that was on my TigerMoth with one that @Deano Bronc repaired and painted for me..

The badge that Dean repaired and painted for me was gifted to me by our dear friend Steve, aka @Sven, who sadly passed away last month..

A few years ago, @Sven had gifted me this badge and I had it displayed on the front of my Bronco. It became very weathered and was in very bad shape. @Deano Bronc graciously offered to repair and repaint the badge in Hot Pepper Red for me..

Here is the repaired and painted badge in all it’s glory and with it proudly displayed on my TigerMoth camper:

A little backstory on how I ended up getting a TigerMoth.. About a year and a half ago, @Sven asked me if I could take a bunch of photos of a Taxa TigerMoth camper while I was attending Overland Expo PNW because he was thinking about buying one. I had never heard of Taxa or the TigerMoth before that.

I found the Taxa vendor site and snapped a bunch of photos for him. I was impressed with the camper after seeing it in person and few weeks later, @Sven told me he had purchased one.

After seeing one in person and seeing his after he received it, I decided to purchase one as well. Hence the reason for putting the BN badge that he had gifted me on my TigerMoth..

Over the past year @Sven had been a great help with getting my TigerMoth set up and offered a ton of tips and tricks that he had done to his. To this day, I am using a lot of his recommendations in mine. Thanks buddy!

I do not think @Deano Bronc is opening a BN Grille Badge repair and painting service so please do not contact him to have one done for you..

My point of mentioning him is to give him credit for his selfless act of repairing and painting this for me, for FREE... He even paid to ship the badge back to me and he also sent me a super duper cool gift as well.. Thanks Dean!

The main reason I always give items away for free, with free shipping, here on BN is because of the selfless acts from people like @Deano Bronc and @Sven.. I'd also like to say that @OrangecrushBronco has also gifted me a few sweet items in the past..

When @Sven originally gifted me the badge he only asked that I pay it forward in some way..

New winner on the respin is @BostonBadlands. PM me your shipping address and I'll get it on the way..

Apologies to @the poacher for having to respin but I put USA only in the giveaway because I do not want to deal with customs, tariffs, fees etc again.. Next giveaway I'll make sure to put that requirement in bold so it's not accidentally missed.

If anyone would like to file a complaint about the respin with my complaint department, they are currently closed as numerous lawsuits from past giveaways have caused a massive backlog... 😂 😲 😬

Seriously, apologies @the poacher, as I should have realized you weren't in the USA before the original spin...

As an offer of goodwill, I am willing to split the cost of tire deflators with you. Place an order through Amazon.ca and have it shipped to your home.

PM me the order total screenshot (block out your personal info) and your PayPal address.. I'll then send you half of the cost via PayPal as friends and family..
@raqball I love the whole wheel spin thing you added into this. It’s an awesome thing your doing with the give-away! Hats off to you sir!

It's the easiest way I found to have a random name drawn... Plus I can use screen record on my MacBook to capture it..

No worries. But thank you for the kind offer, but it is not necessary. I do understand.
I got a $60 ticket for parking in a loading zone at 11:00 PM in Montreal. That's ridiculous, but there is also a $31 CD "service charge!" Damned if I'm paying that. Not planning on returning to Canada anytime soon.

Perhaps they'd be more accommodating if I told the I was feeling suicidal...

A good thing too, as you would most likely be thrown in an ICE compound upon your return.

I've hitchhiked in 31 states, 5 provinces, hopped trains in two, and been arrested in three. I even crossed the southern border illegally and been grilled by the Border Patrol!*
The stalag that can keep me hasn't been built.

*Okay, the truth: 1965, I was 17, and desperately wanted to see a bull fight. I hitchhiked to San Ysidro/San Diego, but being a minor, they wouldn't let me cross. So I followed the border fence a mile or so inland, hopped the fence, made my way back to Tijuana "downtown," and found my way to the arena. On my way out, I was eating in a San Ysidro (US side) diner, when a Border Patrolman took me into protective custody. After calling my father--who was surprised to learn I was there--confirmed that I was not a runaway, I was released.

Ha, that is quite the story, well done on sharing it with us all. You are a renegade, just like the Bronco!

People ask me, "Since you've traveled so much, why don't you do Europe, Asia, or Africa?"
I reply, "I just might, but I'm not through with North America yet."

I am not going to mention the users name because I do not know if they want acknowledgment for this but I do want to share how awesome the BN community is..

I sent a BN user an item that was one of my free giveaways... The other day I got a card in the mail with a handwritten note from that person thanking me for the item and it included a crisp $20 bill inside..

I did not know this was coming! The thought behind this gesture shows how awesome this community is..

Thank you to the unnamed user, you brought a smile to my face!
