Buy off lot, or continue to wait, what would you do?

Still no build date. And when I called the dealer instead of helping me with the issue they found “another 2024 just like what I ordered” that they can have transferred and I can buy that. Downside is it’s Sasquatch and I didn’t want Sasquatch, since I didn’t see the value in adding $4000 for tires I don’t like. Another downside is the fact that’s it’s $4000 more than what I ordered b/c of that.

Now, I found a 2023 Badlands Lux package (my order is a Mid) with 3600 miles on it, for $3000 LESS than what I will pay for mine when it arrives. Not to mention it already has the larger KO2 tires and aftermarket rims on it I would eventually buy for mine, and a winch as well, which I would be buying for mine. And I haven’t clarified but it may be a Sasquatch, or otherwise they just put the Sasquatch fenders on it. Oh, and a roof rack. So I’d be getting something actually better, for $3000 less on the sticker, and several $1000’s savings in aftermarket accessories as well, and I don’t have to keep waiting around for a build date.

What would you do?

Really the only thing I would miss would be heated seats and the auto dim rear view mirror. I don’t care about the adaptive stuff or lane assist or any of that crap. I Use my phone for navigation so… no real need for that either. The front camera would be rendered useless by the winch unless I moved it.

seems well thought out..... I think you have found the answer for you. congratulations.... winner winner.

I must have a really good dealer. I have only been in one time to have the FP Procal installed so I could keep my warrantee. Made an appointment and three days later It took 45 minutes while I waited and was done for ..... wait for it...... NO CHARGE!
What dealership and what region? Might be worth a road trip. The dealerships make me want to drive the damn thing off a cliff and be done with it.

Spot on with the padding of billable hours.

Dealers only get paid for the “book time” regardless of how long your vehicle is there. They’re not padding the books, they’re following the rules. If they started more time than the job pays, they’d trigger a variance in the warranty claims and that could trigger an audit. Audits for dealers almost always equal a penalty and claim chargebacks.

I get it that most people hate dealers, but you also have to look at the scope of the operation and the regulations that they are required to abide by to get paid for the work they perform. Sometimes you might not see payment for a claim for 60-90 days, and depending on the size of the job and the volume of similar work, it can eat into cash flow.

They earned their bad reputation for being scumbags. They aren't car guys selling cars anymore, they appliance salesmen selling refrigerators and washers.

Needless diagnostics for known recall work IS padding the billable hours. You can sugar coat it all you want. Eating into cash flow is their problem NOT mine. A vehicle being held is eating into my life, my time and my warranty months. We all work and wait for a paycheck after the fact. Ford and these stealerships can put on their big boy pants.

I tell you, if you're in some kind of retail, sales, real-estate, anything where your income is customer/client driven, Communication is HUGE!!!! I can not stand sitting around waiting on someone to keep communication going, and even worse when I have to continually ASK for updates...

As a Realtor myself I do my best to text my clients even on days when I have no news or anything to tell them. Just that text that says, "hey, unfortunately no update today but just wanted you to know that I'm still working on it!!" goes a LONG way.

Rant Over.

he finally replied after I text him again today, his response was "I believe it got picked up"

Believe.... ?????????????? He gave me the number for Fenix Delivery and of course no one answers that number, just says to leave a message and they'll call back.

They sent me a feedback request via email (the dealer)... it's going to get zero's in the communication block.

Can you track it using your Fordpass App?
IIRC, you normally can't activate Fordpass Connect until you receive your Bronco or maybe I'm thinking of something else.

Yes it's active but It still says its at the dealer... which come to find out it is. Salesman says it left yesterday. Sent me number of driver. Driver says he hasn't even picked it up yet, should get it this afternoon and he'll be here tomorrow morning.
