I have a question and I'm looking for folks to weigh in on my dilemma. I made a fatal error the other day and cracked the taillight lens on my 2022 Badlands. Before I order an OEM replacement taillight from Ford, and wait who knows how long for the part. I found that Oracle Lighting sells flush mount taillights that are amazing to look at. The lights are described as plug and play, however, you must change the lighting codes in Forscan in order for the taillights to function properly. I don't know anything about ForScan, but I'm a quick learner. Oracle Lighting requires preorder with delivery sometime in late September. The other potential negative is that the turn signals are red and not the OEM yellow. My dealer's parts department quoted me $1,084. for one taillight. Changing the ForScan voids the warranty. Lastly, I question if by changing the codes in ForScan would affect the vehicle's warranty. The positives are Oracle lights are $450. for a pair, they are flush to the body and 3" slimmer than OEM. The white backup lights are described as extremely bright, so no need to worry about dimly lit areas. What would you do? OEM or aftermarket and why? Great point. I didn't see that info in the product description. I'll have to get that answer before finalizing the purchase.
Oracle got back to me and yes, the taillights are SAE & DOT compliant.

It's up to you , send them an email and asks them send you a picture of the raised SAE and DOT info on those lights. Saying is one thing and proving it is another, I only think it is suspect because they don't list SAE and DOT approved on their website.

Whelp, I finally installed the Oracle taillights. I really like the sleek design and the subdued red color. The red running and brake lights are much brighter than OEM. The reverse lights are off-road blinding bright! My only con is that I had LED signature taillights with amber turn signals and these Oracle lights are red only. I love the added 3" of clearance between the spare tire and taillights.

So after almost 3 years, how are the lights holding up?

I really like them and I have no regrets. I'm pleased with the overall build quality, but you will have to go into ForScan if you have Ford's signature lighting. Halogen light replacement is plug and play.

However, there is always a "but". About 1-year ago I had to replaced both the drive and passenger side taillights because of LED failure. The red LED outer band failed for no known reason about 6-months apart. Oracle's customer service was awesome to work with and they replaced both taillights free of charge.

Good luck!

Love my oracle taillights… I have the originals, did the forscan stuff myself, and had to replace one because of a faulty LED on the driver’s side… even though out of warranty Oracle replaced it because it came from a batch they found to be faulty (they were also credited back by the manufacturer…

It’s the only mod my wife insisted I get, shortly after taking delivery of my Bronco... She saw them on another’s rig and turned to me and said… “These are nice!”

So basically they still only last about a year before needing replacement.

How long before Oracle stops replacing them for free?

Paying $500 every year or so for replacements is insane.

My initial investment of $500 was because I cracked the lens on my OEM taillight and Ford wanted twice that to replace one. I'm ahead of the game. To each their own, brother.

I had one bad light, the other was fine… customer service was unmatched…

If they go bad about every year or so then you soon are no longer "ahead of the game".

I haven't seen anyone post about them lasting even 2 years before going bad.

"Compliant" is code companies use when their products are NOT actually tested and approved.

Do your lights have the SAE/DOT codes embossed on them?

Why all the negativity. If you don't own Oracle's taillights, then it doesn't affect you.

Getting the facts straight is hardly "negativity".

The simple fact is compliant is NOT approved and barely lasting a year before having issues is a huge downside to a $500 purchase.

It "affects me" as I like the concept and was considering buying the lights.

Another option… I have OEM taillights that are almost new (replaced three months into ownership). They are LED from a 2023 Outer Banks Sasquatch… I’ll make you a heckuva a deal on one or both, if you want to save some money… they’re just sitting in a box in my garage…

DM me if interested.

Then don't buy Oracle, find something that fits your DOT/SAE needs.

Each year my vehicle has been inspected for safety and emissions and the state authority has not raised any concern with my "compliant" taillights.

My replacement taillights have treated me well and I will continue to support Oracle with their taillight concept.

Kindly keep in mind that sometimes new products have hiccups and updates are necessary, and that's what Oracle did after their first production run. How many times has Ford had production problems with their Bronco, yet we still drive and love our trucks.

Enough of the banter. Have a great day and enjoy the outdoors.
