My point exactly. Interestingly, I got my great deal (about 15% below typical Black Friday prices, free shipping) at a Tundra specialty shop. I won't undercut TBN by specifying, but other than their Tundra-specific accessories, their gear prices were very good.Yes! Around here, it's typically a Tacoma with a $2,500-4000 rack on the back with two gas tanks, at least one water tank and who knows what else. Meanwhile tires looking beautiful with ArmorAll on a vehicle that's never seen a dirt-covered Christmas tree lot! 😆 I'd like to talk to one of those guys one day and find out how he convinced his wife they needed all that stuff. 💀

I picked up a Rotopax 2 gallon gas tank for Moab last year, but never needed it. I sold it when I got back to Omaha. It seems where I travel, there are always gas stations around and I never come close to running out of gas on the trails.
I only carry what I need, and I’m constantly looking for ways to save space. Rotopax is good quality, but I think most people who have them never actually need them. Just my $.02. Don’t feel attacked. 😅
I trust the dirt

Yeah I agree with this. For a long time I carried around an extra fuel tank but honestly never used it. It has since been removed—the only time I ever used it was to refill my lawn mower when I was too lazy to go to the gas station.
For me I'm more interested in RotopaX for water. Currently that's in a tank I have to store in the vehicle, and I'd like to get it outside to free up some space.
The only problem is I don't see the spigot adapter. Maybe I missed it, but something @London can look into whenever she has time... may have been an oversight given the BN store seems to have just about everything else. (No particular rush, wallet is still recovering from Black Friday.)

I bought the 4 gal because there are sections of central west Utah, and adjacent Nevada, that are really very remote. This is a sort of double-dog-dare to myself to actually get there. On a commercial trip into Quebec, the organizers said there would be a 200-mile section without services, and to carry extra gas and provisions "just in case." The "case" never materialized, even though I had 5 gals in an in-truck container.Yeah I agree with this. For a long time I carried around an extra fuel tank but honestly never used it. You're responding to a guy who had three flat tires in central western Utah. The 3rd was about 20 miles south of Callao. When on the trail you never know what you'll encounter. You might think you have enough fuel but a downed tree, a locked gate, or whatever might cause you to divert or back track to work your way around what ever it is that's obstructing progress..
If overlanding, especially on some of the longer BDR sections, extra gas would be mandatory. Have a 2DR? Even more so..
