I have narrowed my search to two Bronco Badlands, a red one (2021 with 25,000 miles) and a blue one (2022 with 15,000 miles). The blue one has some extra add-ons. I am considering purchasing tomorrow! Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome!

Both have been for sale for a while and have dropped significantly in price. Both seem like good deals!

Buy the Velocity Blue. Newer model, lower miles, and some great add-ons, and only approx 2K more. I would suggest that with a bit of negotiation, you can save yourself the extra 2k as well. Good luck and let us know what you purchased, and what the final price was.

Thanks! My first car was a RED 1976 Bronco. So, I am conflicted, but the Velocity Blue looks and drives nice! The dealer selling the Velocity Blue tried to include the stargard for $1000, so i already got that removed. There may not be much more wiggle room as they claim they are already taking a $3,000 loss on it. It's been for sale for a couple of months, I think.

Follow your heart. I think the difference in years is negligible...

A year newer with fewer miles in a better color with add ons. Seems simple to me unless there's a huge price gap.

Based on the CarFax, I suggest that you dig into the service history on the Blue 2022 - in November 2023 it was serviced 4 separate times at 2 different locations.

Good luck on your purchase!

It can never hurt to check these things, Sadly 4 visits isn't much these days if they were trying to get a recall or warranty concern addressed, may have taken 4 visits between 2 dealerships to even get traction, or visits for evaluation and ordering oarts and follow ups to have work done.

I would however scrutinize the fact that these visits were followed by an auction. Looks like it was likely traded in and bounced around a non Ford dealership then sold at a wholesale auction which is common but odd for a practically new vehicle that can still be moved. I'm not familiar with Texas but the Texas safety inspection on 11/17 seems bizarre. In the states I'm familiar with the safety inspections mean a salvaged vehicle needing state patrol approval to be returned to the road if it changes hands but the CarFax says no salvaged or emissions/smog testing to get a renewed registration but it wasnt renewed until quite a while later. wouldn't hurt to get a Ford ESP plan or extended warranty especially if you negotiate it into the sale.

I think maybe the blue one is the best buy. In Texas a new vehicle is inspected at the original sale and is issued for 2 years. The inspection must be done to get licenses plates so the inspection in November, 2023 would be normal if a change of ownership occurred. Just guessing all the service being done may have been due to going from dealer to dealer and auction. You might ask the dealership to answer the service questions. It would be interesting to hear what spin they put on the reason.

The 2022 is still within the original MFG's warranty period 3yr/36K miles (depending on the in-service date of the Bronco). Also the multiple servicing could be for any recalls that have been completed (seatbelt clip, wiper motor reprogram, windshield seal, etc).

Thanks this is all helpful. I see the red one at the Ford dealer has identified it as a Ford Blue Advantage Gold certified used vehicle. So I think the Bronco gets a comprehensive limited warranty added. I need to find out what this means. The blue one is sold “as-is”

Keep in mind the MY22 will not have the temp readout on the air conditioner knobs the 21 will. If these are mid package or higher. But I do love my MY22. The moving from dealership to dealership and sold at auction is a bit concerning. I might consider the MY21, at least you can say you have the first year of the 6 Gen.

Yeah, screw the As Is, it will have the remaining 3 year 36K mile warranty is all. Pre-certified FTW

Hey, thanks for this info. I actually noticed this when testing driving the 2022. I figured they all do that.

I would sell my 2020 Chevrolet Silverado LT Trail Boss. It's been a great truck and has better towing capacity. But since my first car was the 1976 Bronco, and I love the look of the new Broncos, I have to have one! I'm looking forward to throwing the top back during the spring and summer in San Diego.

The choice just got easier for me! The dealer with the Red 2021 Bronco Badlands hoped I could come in today to purchase it. The location is 100 miles away, and I won't be able to go until this weekend. The salesperson told me it would go to auction if it was not sold today!

Don't see a Red Bronco on their site now...they either A) sold it and tried to get you to still come in or, B) the transport to auction showed up and it's on it's way to auction.

Correct. The sales person told me they took it off because they either planned on selling to me or it goes to auction at the end of the day if I don't come in.

If you want the red one, NOW is the perfect opportunity for a low ball offer!

They have no guarantee of price when it goes to auction and they will only recover a wholesale price which is perhaps up to 20% less than their retail price from the website…

Thanks for everyone’s help. I bought the blue one today. I leveraged the red price to get a great price for the blue one. I’m a happy camper.
