Michigan Assembly Plant Mistake?

This weekend, I was doing an interior detail of my Bronco for the first time. As I was cleaning the passenger door handle, I realized it was black, while my driver's side is gray. Not a big deal to me, as it took me 1.5 years to notice (or just clearing 1.5 years' worth of dust off, perhaps, but even still).

Is the right color gray (Badlands, MGV)? I was looking at Build and Price, which seems to show gray (pictured above) but I know that too can have quirks. I like the black more, to be honest. Looks a little less busy.

Thinking of some other recent mentions that have surfaced on an Outer Banks and a Black Diamond, did you find any little mixups on your Bronco? Did you take it in to the dealer, and how did fixing it go? I probably won't bother with this, but just curious.

Ah...this reminds me of the old days at the GM truck plants. A GMC Suburban comes down the line, it has the GMC logos on the outside and Chevy logos in the interior. Do you know there were people that would not order a Chevy Suburban because they thought the GMC Suburban was better quality. They would argue that the GMC was built in a different plant. These were the times that you didn't want your truck build on a Monday, still hung over from the weekend, or Friday, looking forward to the weekend. As an employee you could place your employee discounted order, about 18%, tell the dealer it will be there in a couple 3 weeks, go down to scheduling the next day, if it lined up, your order was bumped to front of the line. Then came computer scheduling and this advantage disappered.

@Laura My interest was piqued sufficiently to go take a look - I can confirm that my 2021 Badlands with MGV has 4 matching grey door handles.

My OCD would be 10/10 if they didn’t match…
- 2023 Raptor / Shadow Black / MGV (DOB 8/30/23)
- 2023 Heritage Limited Edition / Robin’s Egg Blue / 4dr / (stolen from my dealer 11/15/23)

Well, goal is to wash mine today, starting with the interior. So, why not go out and look and get started with the cleaning. My '21 BL has gray on all 4.

I haven’t noticed on mine but I think that would bother me a lot if I knew! Maybe better off not checking. I was actually going to go check but remembered that it’s in the shop. 😣
