Does anyone know if the late availability manual transmission with Sasquatch option will be available with both motors? Currently the manual is available with the 4 cyliner only....hoping for availability on the 2.7

The only thing official is manual will only be available on 2.3L. Nothing has come out about the 2.7L so if they ever make it, that would be a few years down the line in my opinion if ever. I think a lot comes down to how many manuals they sell in the first year or two and if the take rate is high enough maybe they will consider paring it to the bigger engine.

I think it is quite a feat that we have a manual transmission at all. It looks like they threw the enthusiasts a bone with this. The Getrag transmission would be maxed out at its Capability with the 2.7l. I don’t think Ford would risk not having a fairly large safety margin. They could simply beef up the Getrag or detune the 2.7 but I think that would take a few years of testing before they do anything.

I have wondered the same thing, regarding the capability of the manual with the larger motor.

Ford's been pretty clear that they will not be pairing a MT with the 2.7L engine option. Personally, I'm thrilled they are offering one at all! Unfortunately, I think it is more likely that you'll have a batch of enthusiasts getting the MT in first couple of model years, and then whatever take right they get will peter out after a couple years. I think its more likely the MT option disappears before they expand it to additional power trains. It's too bad, especially as someone who is completely gung ho about ordering a 2.3L MT Badlands!

They have made it pretty clear that the current transmission can not take the torque and I don't believe they want to invest the money into creating a new one. I am hoping they open some of the other options with the manual in the future.

Yep, agree 100% and I am jumping on the opportunity as is likely one of the last purpose built 4x4s with a manual you will see. Sadly, they are a dying breed. :(

I went to see my dealer yesterday and they were saying the manual may be available with a 6cyl in MY22. I haven't seen anything indicating that anywhere. Has anyone?

Agreed. The manual is a big reason why I am considering the Bronco.

Haven't heard anything good about manual+2.7l. lots of work and a couple years of research and testing would be required. The stock 2.7 is not too much for the mt like some have erroneously stated. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a33301752/2021-ford-bronco-manual-transmission-specs/

I was just going to post about the torque rating, that the trans would work with either motor.

I agree, if Ford really wanted to they could pair with either engine. Just offering as a choice was a surprise and a cool move directed at all of us off-road enthusiasts (yes, Ford does listen).

However, overall demand will be low and once all of the enthusiasts have purchased the demand will really drop off. If this happens I fear it will be removed from the lineup...Ford is no different from any other large manufacturer, if something doesn't sell then it is dropped. So, if you want a manual or are on the fence, you should jump on this because it might not last many model years. :)
