Had a hundred reasons to remove the Sasquatch spare. Love the look. Especially of the 2dr profile.

Let’s all please be respectful. One of the beautiful things about the Bronco, heck all vehicles is that we can all put our own take on it and that is what it is all about. My idea for my vehicle and what works, is for me alone and hopefully others will like it. But if they don’t, that doesn’t mean mine is wrong. I appreciate other peoples visions even if it isn’t what I would do.

Okay, but respect does have to be given to be received.... Rather than asking why would you do this? Which would be a very appropriate question... We belittle the people that might choose to do it, calling the decision to do so as dumb a decision as could be made.

While I did call names... and I will agree is inappropriate.... He did make it seem like that is what he was wanting... So I did ask if that is what he was requesting.... To be honest, I do not know him and he is probably a much smarter person than I.

To wit: Name calling is usually a sign of weakness of intellect... So it actually says more about me than it does someone else...

My apologies.

Just know that my comment is directed at the entire thread, several posts and several people who posted. So please don’t think I was singling you out. That was not my intent. I saw a few posts that seemed to strike a nerve and so I looked all the way back and noticed that for some reason this thread struck a nerve. Not sure why, but it did. I have found that sometimes when it comes to vehicles, an individuals ideas for their vehicle garners some to respond in a negative light. My only hope is that people would take a moment to pause before posting. I always try to embrace a persons individuality when it comes to their cars. What they do with theirs might not be for me, but on the flip side, what I do to mine may not be for them. And that is okay.

I successfully deleted the spare for about a day. I liked it and was looking forward to the 1-2 mpg I was going to get when my wife shut it down. She did not like the little plate covering the vents. Her argument was, at least a tire has a reason, this just looks like a metal bandaid from a wound. 🤷‍♂️ I disagree, but we are a team so the spare is going back on. It was fun while it lasted.

Tim you are spot on... And to be honest I called someone a name, NOT COOL. So while you might have directed that toward more than just me, I did need that wake up. I am better than that. We are good and thank you for the gentle reminder.

It does not fold down but so much better. So clean. I would pay $1000 for this gate with out paint. Should just be a skin swap

To see a fold down tailgate, check out the Sema builds from 2021. BDS did a conversion to a fold down tailgate.

Although I haven't seen more than maybe a couple posts that seem a bit disrespectful, I totally agree with this. It always seems that someone has to troll on any social media post to get reactions and I guess this forum is no exception.

Just to confirm: take the spare off where it was designed and engineered to be carried, remove interior upholstery and shove it inside an already small cabin? And the benefit is..?
Its prettier inside?
Trail clearance? Ok if you are driving up or down some incline that is SO SEVERE that you are rubbing the spare on the ground I like you might have bigger issues at hand...
Or put that beast on top of the composite roof which was never engineered to handle that load?
You guys are really reaching..
If you hate the look of the spare ok. Just take it off but don't try and make it sound like a smart decision.

I don't personally like the empty look, but I do appreciate that there are so many ways to personalize the Bronco and all that matters is that each owner likes their rig how they have it. I like that the Bronco comes with a full size spare. Normally as soon as I get a new vehicle I immediately have to spend money on a full size wheel and spare. I like to road trip on the coast and in secluded areas and I like to drive at night to cover distances without traffic. I can tell you that patch kits/air pumps ect aren't going to a damn thing for a blowout nor a shredded tire from road debris. Several years ago I had a tire destroyed by road debris on a Santa Rosa freeway at night. As I was finishing changing the tire a concerned local pulled over to make sure I was ok and they told me that atleast one person gets hit and killed in that section every year being pulled over with a flat tire as I was driving away with my wife and son safe I certainly had no regrets on buying and keeping a full size spare as otherwise I would have just had the little Ford Racing gel and compressor kit that came with the car.

Yep I guess everyone has a different story. Have driven over a million miles in mine, friends, family, company and rental vehicles over the years. Have yet to have a tire 🛞 issue that left me stranded.

On the other hand 🖐️ I have needlessly carried a spare and a jack around on most all of my journeys.

Fear sells.

I mean I guess if you think being prepared and having a plan is fear, that's certainly an opinion.

I have had about 15 flats over the years. I have changed many tires on the side of the road and one on a remote dirt mountain road and a couple on very remote dirt roads.. There are a lot of variables when it comes to tires, reasons for flats and being stranded. I can tell you at least a few occasions I would have been stranded in areas where you don't want to be. We each have our own paths. There was a guy on here not so long ago who said he's done a million miles with no accidents and I thought to myself...wow....he hasn't lived. I wrote a motorcycle off on the hiway as a kid and the rest is history and I am still alive to tell the stories. I got another new hip last year and within a few months I was off roading on my Enduro Bike in remote areas and I dropped the bike at least three different times as my leg was not healed enough to really be riding that hard. It is a heavy bike. Once I got going I was OK but at slow speeds I couldn't prop the bike up when need be. Oh one time was deep mud...haha. Picking up the bike one time I strained my leg and I still have to deal with that in a small way. That's just me. We are all different for sure. I would say Fear sells is in correct. At least in my case. The beauty of this world is we are all different.
