I got my truck last month. I’ve had it for 3 weeks. 850 miles. Last night, she started driving weird. Got her towed to the dealership. Needs a whole new transmission.

850 miles…..

And this isn’t the only problem. The vehicle arrived at the dealership with ripped vinyl on the center console, a broken sunglass holder, and multiple pieces of tape sticking out from behind the interior plastic facades.

What do I do? What are my options? What would you do?

Well, for starters on the issues that were present when you took possession of your Bronco those should have been dealt with right away on the dealer lot and documented fully and you should already know what your dealer is going to do. So that should be a mute point and you know the answer there.

The tranny is a warranty issue, $hit happens. My brand new GMC Jimmy 96MY went through 3 transmissions under warranty before the 4th one stuck with me till I sold it with over 200k miles. Welcome to brand new model years, does it suck sure. Is it lemon law as you claim, very far from it

The car must be in the shop or out of service for a specific number of days in its first to second year. Typically 25-30 days out of service will consider the car a Lemon.

yeah everything is covered under warranty and the dealership has already ordered everything to be fixed. It’s just a very frustrating situation. I hope it doesn’t take another year and a half to get the new transmission

Also Remember if it is covered under the Lemon Law, they will just buy the car back they will not replace it or give you a new one.
Sorry to hear you are having troubles but these seem to be fixable issues and the warranty should make you whole.

thanks for this info! I figured it wasn’t a lemon yet, but didn’t know when to start considering that route

Also keep in mind that with supply chain issues there might be an exception for the out of service for a total of 30 days. My buddy was in a rental for over a month just waiting on a warrantied battery. Hope they can fix it soon.

I thought Lemon Laws varied by state? You should check your local laws to see if they can help you.

Wow, I thought this forum was for everyone and every issue. Maybe just read another post if you don’t want to listen to someone vent their frustrations instead of being the forum police, no?

I think he was just stating that the apparent issues are all either warranty or dealer prep related issues.
I also was wondering what the lemon law would have to do with a vehicle 3 weeks old.
Our dealership scratch the side window when they scraped the factory inspection sticker off of the glass during “Dealer Prep”. 2 months later it was replaced.
No worries “it will all get fixed”.

To answer your questions(to which you already answered yourself). First, take a look at what is a problem vs annoyance. All things can be fixed, either by the dealer or yourself. The dealer will make the vehicle as its supposed to be(usually) from the factory. The warranty will cover any failures involving factory parts.(which by your posts you know). Esthetically speaking, if it annoys you, YOU fix it the way YOU want it to be. I'm not trying to be rude here so please dont be offended. A lot of people today think its someone elses job to make thier life perfect and get all uptight when it doesn't happen. Don't get disheartened by the small esthetics, change them to suit you. You do you...

The original poster created this thread with the title: "Lemon law terrible bronco"
They also posted a laundry list of issues they have experienced and then questioned:
"What do I do? What are my options? What would you do?"
And finally stated: "DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BRONCOS"

Later they then clarified after a question that: "yeah everything is covered under warranty and the dealership has already ordered everything to be fixed. "

So they misrepresented their bronco issues by stating Lemon Law which anyone who uses the internet would be able to see doesn't apply in this case.
They then asked 3 questions, 2 of which imply they haven't done anything yet and are asking for help. Yet in their clarifying statement, they made it clear they do not need to know what to do or their options, as they have already started their process before posting the actual thread.
And their 3rd question of "What would you do?" is left without any clear problem for someone to help them resolve.

The original poster essentially just spewed a number of thoughts onto the page and expected people to figure it out and what? Agree with them? But there is nothing to agree with.

There is nothing to see here, and calling that out is just as reasonable as the original poster's false pleas.

I think… I just meant there’s no need to judge or bash anyone because you aren’t entitled to do so. I meant- there are thousands of threads that you can post about things you’re passionate about- instead.

Hi so actually the dealership said we might need to start exploring lemon law and the next steps.

When asking "what would you do," I'm looking for recommendations on what to ask for. I've heard stories of people getting to use the dealerships demo bronco for a month or having their first few payments covered, or receiving $5,000 of accessories.

Everything is going to work out, but my situation capital S Sucks for right now. And I know other people are having problems as well. Just looking for help and guidance and reassurance

I would be so curious to know what dealership?
It seems odd with the issues stated , that the Dealership would suggest lemon law inquiry’s.
All of these things sound like easily repairable issues “except the transmission “ witch is covered obviously.

Don't fall for the dealers claim to a lemon. In thier eyes the lemon is you and thier looking to squeeze you. Your not close to starting a discussion about the vehicle lemon law as your repairs are singular. Thier wanting you to sell them your vehicle back so they can fix it under factory warranty and sell it for a markup. Ask them about thier loaner and message Ford with your concerns about payments. You stay in control of the situation. It is your vehicle. I'm positive if you really want out of it, someone will be willing to buy it from you.
